Wow, you’re build like a brickhouse!
Mad respect for your press!
Do you have a training log where I can watch how you usually work out?

P.S.:
I remember you from putting out that post about how to get big if you are low on budget.
Helped me out big time bro, keep up the good work. Milk, eggs and ice cream, WAR
That was an awesome set of videos…anyone still have them?
Chobbs, he wrote an excellent article on bulking on a budget in this thread

http://tnation.T-Nation.com/hub/GSUbarbell#myForums/thread/5426406/0

His videos can be found on page 2.

PS:
Sorry for hijacking your thread man.
Keep up the good work, as a skinny guy I am truly impressed by your performance.
I can barely MP bodyweight for 2 clean reps, no idea how you can put up 315 overhead!
That’s simply sick dude!

Why don’t you lower the circus dumbells? Is it because the risk of injury is too high?
Not trying to smartass, I’m curious.

It’s precisely that. I messed up my wrist being sloppy and lowering it passively.

thanks i appreciate it, i mostly drop them because it saves energy and i am allowed in competition, but also me and spar4tee when training have found that trying to redo each rep from shoulder or trying to control it up and down have caused us joint issues.

sick OHP

whats your core training structure for OHP? times/week etc?

GSUBarbell,
I just got stationed at Fort Benning in Columbus, GA and I’m looking for a place to train that has implements there. Any suggestions?

Congrats on 305

Seriously love your videos. Talk about, " I pick things up and put them down" For a big guy, you can generate some speed. Ain’t that the F=MC2 thing?

F=MC2 ? I hope that’s a joke.

twice a week
at least one heavy day
at least one less heavy day
one day log type training with swiss bar, or log with clean depends on how fresh low back is
one day with straight bar
i throw in overhead keg pressing and circus dumbell after the barbell or log pressing
along with some bench press

so something like this
monday-barbell press 305x3, swiss bar press 265x3, circus dumbell work
friday-barbell press 265x7, swiss bar 240x6, bench press 405x6

those are workouts i had hopefully give you an idea it really varies

In that case I assume you meant F=MA or maybe F=dP/dt. E (not F)=MC2 is also a true equality, but doesn’t really apply unless your pressing speed is approaching light speed.

OP, I was also impressed with the speed that you strict press heavy weight.

Ya, typo, I laughed when I saw what you wrote. Dumb ass on my part. Btw, I’m a Project Manager for an engineering company. You think I would know better, we’re good. I think I’m going to check some of my storm water calcs from yesterday. lol!

That’s funny. I’m an engineer. You don’t have to go and prove all of the PM stereotypes at once.

Great lift, your intra-abdominal pressure is insane! Do you mainly focus on the standing press rather than seated? Keep up the good lifts.

thank you
i believe my speed is so fast because that 305 and 315 were not true max, they felt 8-9 out of 10 on difficulty

i appreciate that i work on that pressure so much its crazy i didnt wear a belt for anything until competition
i never do seated press because it doesnt transfer much for me to standing do to core and other things invovled with lifting thing while standing compared to seated, i do bench press though usually once a week.

heres how my meet went on saturday
overhead medley was 225 keg which was easy, 270 log which was easy, and 260 axle for reps i got 2nd in this to tom mutaffis who got 7 reps on axle and i got 6
the farmers were much easier in competition than in training due to my thick handles on my bar and little handles on there famers handles it was 300 a hand and i got 2nd in this event as well
i had lead going into 3rd event
that put me in first then the truck push push didnt go so well i had noexperience with it and i managed to get the huge 2500 serious dodge ram 50 feet, i loaded on the kegs to the 60inch platform much easier than any other competitior but ran out of time before i could be the first one to get the 2nd keg. after this event i was 2nd overall

then i only got 655 on tire deadlift which was the most awkward lift EVER and finished last in that which put me in fourth 805 was the winning weight for last man standing
nearly got the 400 pound stone onto platform but didnt manage it due to the stone sticking to my shorts and tacky during the hip extension part of the stone lifting
that woudve put me in 2nd overall since noone could put the 400 pound stone on the 48inch platform at the end of the day
but got 4th instead
many mistakes were made and will be corrected
training for my next competition begins shortly
THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR ALL THE SUPPORT

In the end…your still pressing overhead more than most people can squat. Congratulations, and I hope you achieve all your goals for your next meet.
