I just bought Beyond 531 and read most of the articles on here - so I think what I plan to do is one of the variations I read…but I can’t find it.
4 workouts at 3 days/wk over 4 weeks - so I’ll hit the 5s, 3s, and 531 - then skip the deload, adjust for another round if my body says that is cool. I like keeping everything at exactly 4 weeks.
Can anyone verify that this was an option, or is my memory crap?
Thanks
I’m not sure what your question is.
So you’re asking if working out 3 days/week, so it takes you 4 weeks to get through 12 workouts instead of 3, which is an option given in the original 5/3/1 book, is actually an option? (It is.) Or are you asking if it’s okay to skip deload if you do that? (It’s not.)

The first is my question - sorry to be unclear. I wanted to skip one deload as in the 6 week cycle in Beyond 531, but now mine would be an 8 week cycle.
Good, and thanks for the answer. I only bought the second book, which hinted at it - so now I’ll go buy the first.
The 2nd Edition of 531 has the same info as the first: just more of it.
Ive done this and had success with it. I don’t think its in the book specifically that way though. Just get your diet and recovery in order before you skip deloads. Just my opinion.
