I actually disagree with bones on this, he does have a good physique, in some aspects. Well I think he deserves more of a 5 then what he’s got. Also, he may be training for basketball, but from the lifts he posted bodybuilding is obviously also on his mind. I’ve played football, soccer, hockey, tennis, lacrosse, badminton and basketball and everytime I trained for that sport at the time I was doing it, not one of those times was I not wanting to look better from a bodybuilding standpoint. So while he trains for basketball, I’m sure bodybuilding is also on his mind, like it is with almost all people who go to the gym.

I don’t think people post back and leg shots on hotornot.com either. Don’t bother arguing with him about it though. He will tell you that you’re wining and to go away for “cluttering this guy’s thread.”

not sure why people are bagging on you, you look better than most of the people who post on this site, especially this section.

keep up the hard work.

I’ll assume you were referring to my post.

First of all I did not ‘bag him’.

My point was that the OP is a basketball player, who is interested in getting better at basketball. That is a completely legitimate goal and I hope he succeeds. That is why I said what I did. What is the point of giving a rating to someone who doesn’t lift with the criteria of this forum in mind.

the manner of his workouts shouldnt even be a consideration. the only thing that matters is how his physique looks. if someone gets ripped and muscular by doing a bodybuilder workout, by doing pushups and jumping jacks, or by flipping tires, what difference does it make? so what if his goal is to be a better basketball player? we’re supposed to rate the physique, not the workout routine.

are you saying if lebron james posted here, you would give him no rating (or a bad rating) because he doesnt train for bodybuilding?

If the OP hadn’t posted the before pic my opinion would probably be different. The fact that he cut weight, to his current state, is not conducive to bodybuilding goals. If the OP is trying to get bigger than he made a mistake by cutting weight. If he is not trying to get bigger than I really don’t know what to say.

OP I gave you a 5, for the record. [/quote]

I think he wants to be better at basketball, which he prolly is in his before picture. I also think he wants to look better, which is arguable as to which looks better but I’m sure a lot would agree he looks better now then what he did in his before.

Completely disagree with that statement.

IMO he has a great start, and has the potential to be a big ass boy. He needs to keep eating and lifting though.

There is no reason for you to be talking about me unless I adress you or if you have a question for me. You are immature and that post proves it.

My point is that this is a bodybuilding forum. The goal of a bodybuilder is to grow as big as possible while staying in proportion THEN cut fat when a substantial amount of muscle is accquired. The only people who would agree that the OP looks better in the after picture are the talent scouts for the abercrombie and fitch catalogs.

I was referring to the post you made quoted in this thread:

http://www.T-Nation.com/free_online_forum/pictures_pics_photo_body_rate_image_performance/after_9_years_training?id=2632485&pageNo=2

You just decided to chime in on a conversation I was having with randman. I was just warning PF_88 who made a very similar post to mine in that previous thread. I doubt that qualifies as immature. I don’t want to stir anything up between us so lets just drop it.

I more or less agree, if I had to choose between the two I’d pick the before photo, looks like a big dude there and it looks like he lost some muscle in his afters. Nevertheless, I still believe more people would think he looks better now, maybe not on here, as I would also agree with, but the “abercrombie” people would say otherwise, and there are a lot of them.

I know what you were referring to.

If you think that your comment about me in this thread is the same as what I did in that thread than you are crazy. I was speaking directly to you, not about you to someone else.

You are doing the equivalent of girls gossipping in high school. You were trying to instigate something between me and PF 88, plain and simple. I’m sure PF 88 is a grown up that doesn’t need your “warnings”. Believe me when I say that nothing is being stirred up, this is the internet, not a sorority house.

He does look better in the before picture. I wonder how much muscle he would need to add to get the same increase in vertical as his cut.

tight. 10.

look better afterwards. Lot of guys here have hard-on for muscle at any cost for some reason.

Amazing, now 5K runners have started voicing their opinions on a goddamn bodybuilding website.
Leanness and conditioning are things to work on AFTER you have good proportions, which the OP does not possess. Without good proportions, you’re fucked!

The amount of muscle you need to add depends on your unique muscle shape, insertions and limb lengths - the OP has not added enough muscle to qualify from a BB perspective.
He is ripped, he is athletic, but a BB physique he does not have. 5/10.

I was under the impression that T-Nation was about bodybuilding as well as performance which is why they post articles about increasing lifts, quickness, and vertical jumps. I could be wrong, and if I am I sincerely apologize. I am a substantially better athlete 14 lbs lighter for the record, and I only posted because I like to measure myself against what is considered the best in everything.

Figured it would be interesting to see what everyone had to say about my pics. Thanks for all the support. And did I forget to mention that I deadlift 515 and squat 420 parallel? In any case thanks for the support and criticism.

T-Nation is definately about all of that. This forum is not about rating how good one is at being quick or being healthy or how strong one is though. The only thing that matters in this particular forum is how your physique stacks up against the ideal bodybuilding physique (opinions will differ on who possesses that).

No one is criticizing you for becoming a better athlete but becoming a better athlete doesn’t necessarily mean that you are closer to looking like a pro bodybuilder.

You’ll need to provide videos for those lifts. I don’t like calling out people on their stats but too many people have e-lifts that are a few hundred pounds more than they are in reality. A 515 deadlift by someone with your back development would be astonishing. Please silence the skeptic in me.

some reason…i cant quite put my finger why that would be important on this site…hmmm

-either way op, you look good, but you know what you need to do if you want to get better (from a body builders perspective)

Hey man it looks great. You managed to reduce your fat percentage and for the same size you can lift a lot more than most people (may be not in here but on a globa scale)…

Function, balance, esthetics, you managed to acheive, i don’t see why people need to hate. Not everyone in here wants to be a bodybuilder but I think most people come here wanting to improve their performance, physique and to exchange ideas and information.

It’s a fucking BODYBUILDING/POWERLIFTING website. What is wrong with people?

OP, you did well, but I would have worked on the back much much more. Keep up the good work though.

5/10

I started to write something and the i realized i wanted to waste energy arguing on the internet. Better save it for the gym.

Good luck to everyone in achieving your goals.

But this section isn’t for perfomance…

OP you did well in achieving your goals.
