Bbbbbbbbut how many people that can bench 400 care about doing a muscle up or ‘planche push ups’?

On another note, if you’re walking around your home, which is made of corrugated aluminum scraps, cardboard, and dried warthog feces, and there are more than 20 flies stuck to the mucus points on your head at any one time, and you just can’t get that 4th grain of rice that the airplane dropped from the sky down the gullet, then you’re probably doing OK with 11" arms.

Yes, according to some sources, most men on the planet have arms smaller than you…and I am apparently ignorant for not realizing this.
Yep, just travel around Asia and look for yourself. 13" most definitely owns the planet’s male average. Keep in mind countries like China or India don’t even share our concept of “sport” or “training” .
Either way you’re 100% wrong. Even if every male in China and India had 11" arms, you’d still be wrong. When you take an average, you have to take EVERYONE’s measurement, add them up and divide by the number of people. The males in the rest of the world more than make up for all of the 11" Chinese arms. Unless you’re now stating that most males in China and India have 7" arms and completely cancel out everyone else in the world with 14" arms, you’re wrong.

Have fun being wrong over there in wrongerville.

So I can wrap mah dick around most people’s bicepz?

That’s so kewl.

well how many people that can do a muscle up or planche push up care about benching 400lbs
that was easy

no flaming. but i must ask. why don’t you do deadlifts and barbell squat?
the squat since you specified with a barbell i have to think could be a shoulder problem?
I use a squat machine. My usual routine is leg extensions, unilateral leg presses and then the squat machine until I can’t see straight (I often do leg curls after this but that depends on the level of nausea).

I think the real question is why you think I need to add it just because it is most popular.

Why does there need to be a problem? I know what works for me. Can you say the same?
not once did i say you needed to add it. i just asked why not. usually when guys quit squatting around here its shoulder problems. and honestly i can’t say the same as of yet as i’m fairly new and just figuring things out. just curious. i forget that you’re not a powerlifter.

Ok stupidest argument here in a while. China, India, Southeast Asia, Phillipines, Indonesia, entire continent of africa, poor parts of south and central america, and not only are you talking about what? 70% of the worlds population (If not more) you are also talking about short folks and skinny arms.

Population figures from google and wikipedia:
India 1.2 B!
China 1.3 B!
Indonesia 227 M
Bangladesh 160 M
Nigeria 151 M < most populous nation in africa average height = 5’4. (suspect number but not ridiculous given the poverty on the african continent)
Phillipines 90 M
Vietnam 86 M
Sudan 41 M
Cambodia 14.5 M

Europe in 2002 with a GENEROUS definition of Europe including turkey, balkans, etc:
830M
US 307 M

Will you please look at the population difference between ‘western countries’ and
third world countries and then get back to me about what the worldwide average bicep size most likely is? And then could you also look up the population of wrongville for me?

anyway as a beginner I’m using the convenience of the park monkey bars to get started on pull strength, and Im sprinting for legs/glut activation before I get back in the gym. Its walking distance of my house and its free and i’ve made what I think of as decent gains.

and yes the different grips on different kinds of pullups will probably recruit different neural pathways meaning you can get more out of the same excercise by switching grips once it gets stale. Or so I have been advised, I’ll find out soon enough.

Also its open 24 hours a day.

lol- we aren’t talking about someone’s uncle. We are talking about 11" inch arms being unthinkable while they are actually pretty common across the globe.

Visit China and India (and thus meeting nearly half the population) and tell me with a straight face they all sprout considerably bigger arms - that would be bullshittin.
Yes, 11" are skinny, but they are definitely more common then 13" arms.
Complete and utter no brainer here.
i am chinese and i had 11 inch arms when i was 14 and 5’1 95 lbs. i remember getting measured by my gym teacher in front of my entire gym class. that’s when decided to start pumping iron. there isnt any grown man in my family with arms that small and i have a wimpy family.

I dont know about arm sizes, im willing to accept that the average size is greater than 11 inches if a dinky asian at 5’1 had 11 inch arms.

My disagreement is in that you think the number of people who work out or just have good western style nutrition can in any significant way influence the much greater number of people (80% of world pop who live on less than 10$ a day) who subsist on rice or some such.

One factor in your favor that I didnt consider until now was the number of obsese people worldwide who bump the average arm size even if its not really in the way we are discussing.

Still it is a very stupid argument.

It’s a fact. Shit, everyone in the world but 1 guy can have 11" arms. That one guy with 20" arms is going to increase the average to above 11", ever so slightly.

If you didn’t like my random numbers that I threw out there arbitrarily then I don’t know what to tell you. My argument was FLAWLESS! Admit it!

ProfX didn’t know it was possible for grown men to have those 11" arms.

Until he came to T-Nation.

T-Nation is continuing education for doctors and such. Since 1998.

I can’t believe you googled for some shitty argument on a body building forum but that is some hardcore shit.

Guys, you are arguing with Schwarzfahrer, who stated a 1,000lbs squat wasn’t impressive to him because it was “bad form”.

Lol, welcome to Trolledville, population you bastards.

Shorty is right Eli, give it up.

Born in India, Indian parentage. 6’0’ tall, 16.5 inch arms flexed. And yes even my father at 5’10’ and 77cm waist still has larger than 11 inch arms, as do all my uncles and grandfather.

There’s a few more nails for ya!

You ever get in an argument with someone and you get so frustrated and it gets so heated that you almost get in a fight before a friend steps in and summarized both your arguments and you realize you both have been shouting the same thing at each other the entire time?

we’re still arguing about 11" arms? WTF
