The season premiere of the most intense (and best)show on television. So what is one to expect? Will it top the previous seasons or will it jump the shark? I’ve laid down my own personal “24 plot progression formula” for the season and I’m going to see how it pans out. I think we’re in for a great season.
Hopefully it’ll be good. But even “bad” 24 is probably better than 90% of what’s on TV.
I’m also curious about your “plot progression formula,” care to share?
I have allreay seen the first 4 episodes…
Want to know what happens at the end of episode 4?
Geeks. Everyone knows “What I like About You” and “American Idol Rewind” are the best shows on television.
But seriously, who do I have to kill to make it so American Idol never gets shown again?

That British dude, the has-been pop-star and the unintelligible fat guy would be a good start.
Can not wait! Doesn’t start here til next week though.

POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT
Well first of all, it will probably be a bit off since the threat is rather different this season. From what I understand someone has a personal vendetta against Jack, so much of the action will be centered around this personal conflict.
Shocking opening
Introduction of threat
Appearance of mastermind
Mole
Real Threat
Some kind of twist
2nd mole
Real mastermind appears
Situation complicates (the mastermind’s Plan B)
(Skeptical: Appearance of a powerbroker)
Drastic or risky method undertaken to take down main villain and possible henchmen.
Denouement
Cliff hanger
Include shocking deaths wherever. Possibly some side plot. Naturally, Bauer will go rogue w/ the aid of Chloe and Bill a couple of times.
So in relation to this season, the threat is obviously suicide bombers. So there’s some commentary about Anti-Muslim sentiments. But then we find out Muslims are simply being used to divert attention from the real threat or what not. From the real threat is introduced as well as the true villain. I could go on and on but you get the idea.
This is all just speculation
SPOILERS END

no
It morphed into the Chloe show with an occasional appearance by Jack Bauer each episode.
I hope it does center more on Jack this season.
holy shit. the ending dropped my jaw
So far the episodes have been top-notch. I think it might have started out a bit slow, in the first episode, but that was to be expected considering the situation with Jack I guess. Episode 4 was truly a 24 classic and one of the best 24 episodes ever in IMO.
SPOILER BELOW - If you haven’t seen episode 4, don’t read.
Yeah, it’s ramping up to be great season of 24.
Just before the ending yesterday, I told my wife “I wish they’d let the nuke detonate for once, instead of having some last-second miracle intervention to stop it.”
Can’t wait for next one.
This is the first season I’m following as it airs…it’s pretty exciting.
I am actually a bit disappointed in the start to this season.
I just can’t buy Wayne as the president - Heller would have been a much better choice. Wayne would have been better as an action guy, like he was building up to last season.
I dunno, it just seems like they are painting themselves into a corner, trying to outdo previous seasons instead of simply matching them. Jack is more of a caricature this season it seems, and its all about him. Kind of like twice the action and half the excitement.
I still liked it though - kind of like the difference between good and God.
Just trying to revive this thread.
So, what does everyone think of the show so far this season? I’m not very impressed.
Too much plot and not enough Jack Bauer kicking ass.
I predicted that Morris was going to be the engineer that they needed right away. No big surprise there. And why wouldn’t he just drive off when that guy pulled in front of him? They need him to program the nukes so they aren’t going to shoot him. That was dumb.
I have some other gripes but I’ll hold off on those for now.
The show is still very entertaining though.
I’m enjoying it. I always suspend my disbelief; I’m not looking for plot holes or anything like that. The last episode managed to ruin every season I haven’t seen though.
I’m still in the middle of the third and fourth seasons. My brother borrowed the DVD sets, but a couple discs are missing, so I have to rent them.

I also try to suspend my disbelief and just enjoy the show. But sometimes I just can’t.
Yeah, if you haven’t seen the last season, Jack’s brother really screwed ya when he confessed.
I’m interested to see how the situation with Jack’s father plays out.
And I really hope that we have seen the last of President Palmer’s sister. Her character is really annoying.
