I know I’m late on this, but good luck with the surgery! I had the bicep tenodesis and a year for complete recovery is about what it was for me. (When I say “complete recovery” I mean no longer really thinking about the injured arm.) I trained lower body using movements that didn’t require any use of my surgical arm (since it was immobilized in a sling) and then did upper body just on my nonsurgical side. (Surgery sucks and I didn’t want to go through it again so I didn’t push the envelope on my surgical side – the tendon needs time to heal to the bone.) The doctor advised against the latter – told me I’d develop imbalances – but I’m glad I did it. When I was able to start lifting again with my surgical arm, everything came back very quickly and after 4-6 weeks my arms were matched in strength.

Ordered some new equipment.

My other swiss bar is too wide for my rack.

Having a cable machine is a big upgrade to the home gym. Unnecessary, but it does offer a lot of versatility, and they aren’t that expensive. I bought one during quarantine.

Christmas in December!

Wait… that didn’t quite work like I hoped.

Nice stuff there.

I’ll add the second cable machine on the other side of the room for crossovers once my arm is out of the sling.

Fuck dude, I get behind on your log by a couple of days and this is the kind of insanity you get up to?

I was debating between PLATE-LOADED COMPACT LEG SLED – POWERTEC and the style in the picture below from Titan. Worried wouldn’t be able to load plate that high with one hand and if it was a good idea to put pressure on my shoulder while immobilized in a sling.

Have you thought about a belt squat machine? Or home made set up by chance?

on reddit there is a diy to turn the cable machine into a belt squat. If that doesn’t work yes I plan to buy one.

That’s awesome, I’d love to be able to use one. Id suspect it would be significantly cheaper than a leg Press. And probably have more carryover!

Good choice! I’m jealous of how much space you must have been able to make for your home gym!

If you have a power rack and a dip belt you can rig one up that gets pretty close just working with what you have. Like this: Do Belt Squats ANYWHERE! (Home or Public Gym - No Machine Needed- DIY) - YouTube. Of course, none of this works if you have your arm in a sling!

why not?

I guess now that I think about it you could do this one-handed with some effort.
