No side effects. Been on a diet for a year now, I’m used to it.
Activity will increase. I’ve been taking 5 mile walks, going back to 10 mile walks, 6 days per week. Will continue lifting everyday.

Have you considered any higher intensity lifting/complexes/cardio as an alternative to semi starvation. A year on a diet suggests it is not working very well.
HIT aka Dr Darden model.
Weights complexes.
Bike or rowing intervals, anything like 30sec hard 1 min easier and so on.
Or even a higher level of LISS than walking. Say 30 mins/row or bike.
They are all pretty common methods of weight control/reduction with many benefits of increased athleticism.
You have massive determination to do what you are doing every day, there must be a less painful method of getting there.
I’m down 130lbs in the last 12 months while maintaining my levels of strength.
BP 370 – DL 560 – OHP 205 – SQ 470 – ROW 315
Forget the finish photos, you deserve to win the transformation challenge on effort and consistency alone. Keep it up.
I think an average weight loss of over 10lb a month for a year whilst maintaining strength suggest his approach is working very well.
You’re a madman Jones!
You don’t get it
You’re talking to a guy who’s getting his head down and doing his own thing
He doesn’t need Dr Phil piping in.
This game is all about self experimentation.
We could all learn from @throwawayfitness.
He gets his head down and does the work.
Something that a lot of blowhards on the Internet bumping their gums about training and doing the square root of fuck all themselves, should consider doing.
Keep it up @throwawayfitness. You’re my man
Couldn’t agree more @boyce79 my man
I wasnt suggesting his approach was not working. Just there was a more efficient and healthier approach.
I respect anyone who puts the work in, that what I said. Each to his own.
Seems like a pretty polite observation from me and a constructive reply from ej.
Why somebody thinks my comment has something to do with Dr Phil (who) and an internet blowhard. Who knows,
Don’t take it personally @doddfrank mate.
We’ve all been in this log for a good while watching @ejoseph gwt to work and it’s been working well
Your suggestion of cardio for example has already been catered for.
The guy goes on 10 mile long walks for fucks sake ![]()
Last time I walked 10 miles I was a student who had just missed the last train. Respect to anyone that can do this all the time.

First time in this log and I’m absolutely blown away by what you’ve achieved in here man. Absolutely phenomenal work.
Aye mate the guy is a quiet voice with loud results
Yeah, this is an awesome log. I don’t really think there’s much to be said about his methods of losing weight, because I couldn’t do what he did. The only thing worth discussing - or just keeping in mind - is the strategy of what to do after the goal is reached to make sure the weight doesn’t come back, and even then, I’d trust his judgement there over mine.
Those pictures are incredible. Literally the entire gut gone, chest looking great, the back - holy shit, it’s just popping through and looks awesome. Absolute machine, like @ChongLordUno said.

How’s the fasting bro?
First 72 went great. It was during the week.
Second 72 I cracked about 27 hours in.
Much easier to not eat all day during the week then over the weekend back at it tomorrow
Have you ever tried just 16/8 intermittent fasting? I’ve always really liked it and done well with it. Especially cutting.
