Not sure if serious.

Lol it wouldn’t have passed in what? Front squat competitions?

I was just about to say…

Strong guy, nice video.

Judging by the gym/weight room, equipment, and the fact that he is front squatting, my guess is that he is an o-lifter, not a powerlifter. Anyone know?

Ex shotputter and olympic lifter from New Zealand. Currently doing strongman with PL work thrown in. Did the NZ nationals this year and said he’ll be lifting next year in some more IPF stuff to have a crack at the junior worlds.
Also a recreational thrower of washing machines…

Awesome effort on that last attempt despite the miss. Respect.

And lol at the “front squat competition” comment!

huh?

Hi guys, Jono here, saw the link to T-Nation off youtube.

Thanks for the props. Smokotime nailed it, I’m a jack of all trades. Strongman is my main deal, but qualified for IPF jnr worlds next year and I’m hoping to pick up a medal or two there. Just started learning the gear now. Training for the USC strongman in Aussie with Zydrunas, Ortmayer etc… going to get killed!

Any questions, just ask.

I was gutted that I fell forward, cause I wanted a clean lift, but in FS its only the depth that really matters. While I wasn’t ATG, I’m at parallel or just below, so good enough for me.

Some people can squat more ATG than parallel because they have a weird stretch reflex. So you might have been able to get it ATG also. But it definitely wasn’t high by any means. Nice work btw.

How do you structure your squat training?

I’m more greedy - How about all of your training?

At what point in your young life did you realize you have a knack for lifting heavy things?

Probably the same time he realized he was 6’4" and 300+ lbs.

Sorry guys. My post was a sarcastic towards stallion because this was posted in the powerlifting forum. It wasn’t serious, nor did I mean any disrespect at the lifter.
