Thnx guys, I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to tell weather my Hamstring is ready for the weights again…

All of my brusing is gone, it has been maybe 7 weeks since I tore it. I wrapped, iced, and heated it towards the end. I think it may be ready, but i’m no doctoR.
Yea dude, did you ever see a doctor or just play it off?? If you tore that shit it may still not be healed, just looking and feeling slightly better. If I were you, I wouldn’t even touch a weight with my legs. I PARTIALLY tore 2 of the 3 ligaments in my left ankle my junior year of H.S. like my 6th week of my football season. I was out the rest of the season with a boot on my ankle and didn’t get it off until mid/late December then didn’t start doing direct leg work or cardio until January, and my season ended Thanksgiving Day, November. Either way, if it was realy torn 2 months is not enough for proper healing, I’d say like 6 months WITH proper treatment, but then again I’m no doctor and just speaking from slight personal experience.

I don’t mean to invade your thread Avg Joe but, this line is awesome. Thank you Drew for saying something badass and making my night.

Hope you achieve everything you want Joe. Life is Mars Bar. Enjoy it.

But some of us have lives beyond weight training. I go to school 16 hrs and work i don’t have time to cook the best food ALL the time… I started my training weighing under 160 pounds and have hit a peak of 185 in weight and my body fat is low, i have a visable six pack and am able to lift a good weight.

Sounds like excuses to me. “I dont have time” usually means “I spend time doing other things, and this just inst a priority.”

And, after two posts on this board, youre going to start being an asshole and telling people when and where they are allowed to voice their opinions? YOU are a clown, and an unfunny one at that.

Advice 1: don’t tear any more muscles. In fact, don’t ever get injured again. An injury is a big setback. Anything else like supplements, routines, are just fine tuning things to increase your rate of progress. But injuries - they stuff your progress. Everything perfect + injuries is not as good as a wonky routine, beer and no injuries.

Keep doing what you are doing. Pick a few criteria to measure progress and if you are not getting there, change things. e.g weight gain, % bodyfat, squat poundage etc…

good luck

Bro, school and work as you know, can be very time consuming, not being able to cook “the best food ALL the time,” is no big deal.

Ya, he is pushing it alittle there, but when someone mouths off, or says “you don’t take lifting serious,” when you know you do, anyone w/ some balls would issue a “comeback.” His basically stated that he would prefer her not to comment on his page. No big deal. Unfortunately, and this is not directed towards you, but many people sprout some gigantic e-balls, when there is no way they would disrespect someone face to face. He’s just defending himself.

He says he eats a lot of fast food and drinks on the weekends. I take a full courseload at school and have a job, yet somehow managed to find the 45 minutes it takes every night to make my food for the next day.

Having goals that are physique oriented and eating a lot of fast food (eating well takes no more time if you know how to managed your time) and drinking (an unnecessary action that shows exactly how badly he doesnt want to achieve his goals) are two contradictory things.

The only Giant sets of e-balls I see in this thread are the OP and Rugby_owns. The OP obviously lacks the intelligence to respond in a respectful manner to someone giving him some pretty basic, serious advice.

Rugby_owns talks a lot of shit to people who are bigger/stronger/etc. than him, gets embarassed when he gets called out on it, and then changes his username. Its happened at least twice since I have been a member here.

Holy crap. We just love to slaughter people around here don’t we? Maybe he’s like most people when they’re young, they have fun on the weekends. Good on you for being so diligent about cooking your food. Maybe that’s what we can encourage this guy to do? Give him some advice on it. Rather than f’n crucifying him for not being as uber hardcore as he could be.

All i’m looking for here is a bit of rationality here. Of course he has a few things to overcome…

Also, lets not in an effort to defend one person, demonize another… the OP responded defensively to B3, big deal. Most of us would do the same thing in that situation.

He could have gotten a nice buzz going in those 45 minutes.

I gave it a bit more thought, and I agree with the points stronghold and B3 are making, even if I disagree with the delivery… but that’s there right, and I wouldn’t want them to change who they are for the sake of my opinions… we’re all unique little snowflakes (rofl?). Fuck… damn post workout endorphin high, acting all ridiculous.

but then again your doctoR will prolly tell you to stop lifting heavy weights (because its bad for your ankles, knees, shoulders, neck, and LOWER BACK(doing deadlifts is one of the biggest crimes in their book)) and stop eating so much protein because youll kill your liver, and encourage you to eat more those packaged and heavily processed “Health Check” “0 fat!!!” “Reduce Your Cholesterol!!!” foods.

and start being more like everyone else.

Not to be a dick 3B but didn’t you flake on your training for a while? Just saying.

This guy only needs to gain 20 pounds, I don’t think the drinking and fast food will prove to be much of a problem for him.
I did, thank you for noticing me!

But Im not out here asking anyone to rate me, and then make statements about continuing to eat fast food.

Dont be a fucking cry baby because a girl responded to your very first thread and it wasnt all flowery compliments!! Give me a break!

You post a picture, ask for feedback, say youre going to eat fastfood…what did you expect me to say???

Here, maybe I should start all over…

Oh Joe,
You look fantastic. Dont worry about the fast food it will be kind to your kidneys and cholesteral!!! It wont make you feel like shit. Go ahead honey, have another serving of french fries!

I lived on fast food for a large portion of my life. Therefore the huge weight gain. I havent had a soda in almost 12 years and the last time I ate fast food, which I think was Sonic, I was so sick, I said no more.

I understand time constraints I work way too many hours. One thing that has helped me tremendously is waking up early every Saturday morning and spending 3-4 hours in the kitchen cooking all my meals for the week. Everything is placed in tupperware and put in the freezer. Pull it out and nuke it. I would defenitely encourage you to do this because it makes a world of difference.

From experience I can tell you that if you cut out that crap youre going to do yourself a huge favor. But youre a big boy and Im a clown, so you do what you want sweetheart.

Best of luck!!

;->

p.s. Sorry to hear about your leg. Looks painful.

Take it you have never been told to shut the hell up before huh? He doesn’t care that your a women, if anyone would have said that he would have called them a clown too. If you bothered to read his posts at all you would have seen that he is going off fast food. The only thing he won’t change is his drinking, and I don’t think having some fun on the weekends will make him less serous about his lifting.

Just admit you said something stupid apologize.

To all those who were so easily offended by my “harsh” criticism, please accept my sincere apology.

I wish nothing but the best to the OP.

Body building babe, i love your comments! It always seems to be the under 200lb stick figures who have the biggest mouth and want a pat on the back because they look so cut out…maybe you think you look all freaky but lil punks like you dont take lifting seriously and you are waisting peoples time. It seems to me the bar scene is more of a friggin priority and apparently any serious advise wont be taken seriously by you. So why waste our breath?

And btw, i would rather look like the guys from worlds strongest men competitions then worry about how many lines i can count on my stomach, i weigh 308lbs and i enjoy taking up a whole aisle in my grocery store. People tend to be nice to guys my size. I take my shirt off at the pool and show off my tats and people compliment me on my physique even without the gay ass washboard stomach, which i think is overated. But i guess our goals are different so good luck to ya brother!

^^^^^^^^^^
Im gunna stand next to this guy!!

Hi! Im B-3, How YOU doin’? (Said in my best Joey Tribiani accent!) ;->

whoa whoa PRIMAL…just cause we are under 200lbs doesn’t make us stick figures…genetics go a long way in both directions…i dont go around calling every one 200lbs and up the Stay Puft Marshmellowman. And regardless of the comments or what most people say, if they are making an attempt on here they are taking at least one facet of weight lifting/training or just general fitness seriously…or living some crazy delusional fantasy which is just scary…

just my humble opinion…im probably wrong too it has been known to happen.
