2014 NFL Thread III

So here is my assertion:

According to talking head on the radio: Had Caroll made that call for Pittsburgh, Philly, NE, Chicago or even Dallas… He wouldn’t be able to leave his house ever again, let alone be a coach for much longer.

He also admits that “the team isn’t all on the same page about the call”.

Therefore, he loses this team by week 5 next year, and he isn’t their coach in 2016.

Blount has pulled similar shit when he played at Oregon, watch the whole video, kind of a lame sucker punch.
lol, Yeah, Blount has NO room to talk shit about anyone.

Its bad but I don’t think its an existential threat for Caroll. He’s built up tons of good will here, including a Superbowl win last year for fucks sake. Also, the word is he’s taking the heat for his O-Coordinator who actually calls every play.

Pretty sure everyone knows this to be honest. We were talking about it later that night.

But man… I’m glad that dude was that fucking stupid. 100 times out of 100 you give that ball to Lynch to try and win the game. I don’t care about clock management, none of that.

I don’t think the players are going to be on board very long is all. SOur taste in the mouth, etc.

I was watching the game with 15 or so high school football players in the room who all started yelling “no, no, no, give it to Lynch!” as they lined up and before the snap. So, ya, we all know it was fucking bad. The loss is very hard to stomach on that play and with that call. But, again, without Pete and his crew we wouldn’t be talking about one bad call, we (at least Seahawks fans) would be talking about why the Hawks are always 6-10 or 8-8, and next years draft picks.

Call Buffalo. I’m sure they’ll give you sexy Rexy in trade.

I like that they ask Belichick about it, and he basically says (using slightly more PR friendly words) fans are dumb and should stfu. lol.

For whatever its worth, I haven’t heard one fan calling for Pete’s job. Not one.

Am surprised the Pats vets don’t have a leash on some of the younger guys though. Was a close game, and it’s over. Leave the talk on the field and out of the press.
I think a fan threw it up to him and they had fun with it. I don’t think they brought it.

People are really starting to bitch and moan that the pats are being sore winners now… Lmfao… It’s getting fucking ridiculous. Did the 9ers and Cowboys get this much hate back in the day?
Lucky for the Cowboys the internet wasn’t the same place, and cocaine didn’t have a twitter account to post pics in bed with Micheal Irvin.

I don’t think the Pats are being sore winners, but I did expect a little more casual arrogance than trash talk. Makes plenty of sense to be waving around fan made stuff though.

Man, anyone who does needs to go to the doctor and have their chromosomes counted.

Yeah, I mean everything I’ve heard boils down to:

This was the play progression they call in that situation. They’ve practiced it, ran it, etc etc etc. If this is week six, no where near the amount of ass pounding Carroll is taking now…

HOWEVER. The Pats knew this and were just as ready for THAT pass from that formation as the rest of country was for a Lynch run. They set up late so Wilson didn’t have time to check out of it into anything but a draw, which the Pats were ready for as well.

Big picture, any other game but the SB, that call isn’t even bad lol. But… It’s the superbowl, you have one of the best Running Backs in the game, with one yard to win it. You hand that shit to Lynch.

Course not…

I’m saying… Players aren’t going to keep buying in if Pete from 15 years ago comes back…

lol, this is a 8 out of 10 joke.

I just want to say thanks guys. My cousin died last night, and the distraction this thread has been really is nice. Hats off for coming back at the right time Jack. Thanks

Sorry to hear that Beans. My condolences.

The group I was watching with was saying the same thing, only me in all my brilliance was like “No way he’s dumb enough to throw it, calm down, its a QB sweep.” Then he threw it. It was pretty awful and I am not even a huge fan of either team, I played against Collins in highschool when he was a freshman, but I really hate Tom Brady so I was pulling for the Seahawks.

Thanks. It’s sad, but there is no way he couldn’t be in a better place now than he was. So it’s okay really.

I don’t know about the others, but if he was with the Cowboys and made that dumb ass call and lost us a ring, he would have to move without a doubt.

That heat-of-the-moment call was bad, but its not like they did something crazy like draft J. Football and cost Seattle their future.*

 • Cheap shot, but I’m bitter right now. So fuck it.

Justin Gilbert is the happiest dude ever that Manziel got drafted in the first round by the Browns.

Yeah, he only made possibly the dumbest call in the history of sports. Seriously.
