This has been the kryptonite for years (since NYG showed everyone how). This is why I am frightful of the Buffalo Bills in the next few years.

I have more faith in the D than you. When they won SB’s, they had a shut down corner (Law, Samuel) and versatile LB’s (Brushci, Johnson, Seau) with a decent DL. This year reminds me a lot of those defenses. I just believe the above allows Beli-cheat (LOL) to scheme effectively to accomplish what needs to be done (take away best weapon).
Yeah, you and my buddies keep telling me the same shit, lol. I’m a negative nancy.

The good news is, if it’s close Bill will just cheat and the pats should win, so, fuck it. Why even watch film, damn don’t even need to put pads on guys. Pats can just cheat their way to the ring. ;)
I’m not a Pats hater; they have accomplished a lot and have been a great team for a long time. But it does seem like Belichick just enjoys cheating for the sake of cheating. Its almost like Ed Norton in rounders. He’s got Matt Damon sitting next to him mopping the floor with everyone on the up-and-up, but he just feels compelled to stack the deck because he wants to get something over on his marks.
Do you see guys used PED’s differently?

Yup, and so is Brady.
No, no different. PED’s are cheating. I also suspect pretty much everybody cheats on this front. I don’t like it, but I don’t know what to do about it. So I largely stick my head in the sand on this issue.

Again, I am not a Pats hater, but tampering with the balls post-inspection seems like crossing a line. I would be very disappointed if Pete did that for the Hawks.
MattyXL wrote:

It also piles onto the smugness of bellicheck and brady. Yeah we got caught cheating but fuck you we will do it again
So when the Panthers heated up their balls, and no one gave a shit… No one still gives a shit.
MattyXL wrote:

But I get it how dare any other fan not bestow anything but kudos to the Pats. It ain’t cheating it’s gamesmanship
It’s not as much that as the reasons for the complaining. Nothing the Pats have been caught “cheating” is something a plethora of other teams and sports haven’t done before or will do again. The hate gets reserved for the Pats.

You want to shit on them for choking the perfect season? Please do, valid criticism. Literally chocked and got out played, out manned and our classed in the most important game of their careers.

Second loss to the Giants? Yes, shit all over them. Playoff losses? Please, they deserve all the anti-praise in the world and I can’t even argue with it.

Them doing what everyone else does turns into a media story due to their record and smug attitudes? It sort of stops being about criticism and starts being about something else.

So loading up on gear < air pressure in a ball?

Really?

I’m not trying to defend either, both are cheating (assuming it is proven the Pats did it on purpose), but to sit here and try and tell me it’s cool to ignore one, and then say the other “is too much” seems… Utterly ridiculous.

Yes, I’m confident plenty of Pats players are on PED’s too.

If you’re not cheating, you’re not trying hard enough.

Please remind me, did they throw LeGarrette Blount 30 passes for 148 yards, or did they hand him the ball?

bad look for the Pats, but it had 0 impact on the results of the game.
Right. I don’t think Belichick needs to cheat to win; it appears he just likes to cheat for the sake of cheating.
BeliCheat doesn’t need to cheat to win, except for the SuperBowl…

I still can’t figure out why he gets a free pass for the dumb decisions he made that cost the Patriots the SB during their dream season. Karma, maybe? LMAO.

I can’t stand BeliCheat and would not root for any team that he coaches. I’m only jealous of Brady’s mad skillz and would love to root for him, except he plays for BeliCheat. (that said, Brady was still outplayed head-to-head by Eli in the SBs, especially the 2nd time!)

In spite of all my biases, I think the only way Indy wins that game is if the Patriots had played with 10 guys on their offense, and were forced to sit Revis on defense.

The fact BeliCheat still felt the need to cheat speaks volumes about the man.

“Look, when it comes down to it, if this was intentional, it’s pathetic.”

Did you not say this beans? See I could cotton pick too.

Oh and the colts originally complained about deflated balls in the regular season when they played.

Why can’t you accept the mere possibility that the pats get caught twice and that on top of the feeling of superiority would put them on the radar more than any other team.

The pats did this to themselves

I’d didn’t say PED use was cool, I said I didn’t know what to do about it. Also, for the record, its not like I said deflating the balls should taint to whole body of work. If Pete did it, I would be disappointed, but I wouldn’t stop being a fan, or view what the Hawks have accomplished any differently.

I once heard a quote from a pitcher on our baseball team. “I never got outplayed, I only got out-milligrammed.”

Everyone is cheating on some level, it only counts if you get caught. Not saying I agree with it, it’s just the nature of the beast.

Pats should have a draft pick taken from them, if that doesn’t teach them, then they should miss the entire draft altogether. If you want to put a stop to all this bullshit, you need to come down hard in a way that is truly punitive.
MattyXL wrote:
And I hate the Seahawks too because of that scumbag pete Carroll. I’m hoping both teams lose on Sunday
Why the hate for Carroll? Is it only because he did a shitty job for the Jets?

You have to admit he turned that franchise around. Starting Wilson as a rookie took balls, not too many coaches would’ve pulled the trigger on that decision.

I don’t think that’s really true. The Pats were caught cheating so people focus on the Pats. Pete Rose was caught betting on baseball and he was vilified for it. Was he the only person betting on baseball? of course not. It’s the same thing. No one is condoning cheating, but no one else (no other team) has been caught cheating multiple times. I mean Josh McDaniel’s was also caught taping practice so what do the Pats do? They give him another job…

People were pretty outraged about bounty gate and the Saints coach and several players were suspended for a year. The league has gone easy on the Pats, imo. Plus look at teh Ray Rice incident, we had people here calling for Steve Bisciotti to sell the team (for lack of integrity) and Newsome and Harbaugh’s job because Ray Rice punched his fiance in another state

Also, if anyone cheated it was probably Brady. He has access to the game balls during warm-ups and he’s the one who’s preference matters.

Actually not in the least. It was more his departure from USC. I was a fan of his as a DC and HC for the jets . The fake spike game screwed him, I was at that game

Fuck a draft pick . Put a hit on their salary cap

Great coach, but I question his ethics.

He fucked USC, threw a grenade and walked out the door.

Would not surprise me if he did it somewhere else.

Him and Saben will be playing poker in hell some day

I know, and I’m not trying to be a dick here, but your post is a good microcosm of the general sports attitude.

Guys risking life, limb and quality of life for years gassing themselves up with gear and other drugs from as early as high school, for the outside chance they might be lucky and make the rookie min for 3 years before they retire brain dead and with bum knees. Fans don’t give a fuck, how did you play last game? Popped for PED’s? “Oh well, everyone does it, and we dont’ know how to fix it.”

We don’t teach our 8 year olds to throw curves because it is good for their elbows.

Now a team supposedly deflates some balls, and video taped (just like everyone else) from the wrong section of the stadium (the actual violation of rule) and good fucking lord this is “a representation of everything wrong with our culture and taints any success they had.” (No one said this hear, but I’ve seen it today, lol.)

It’s just sad. And I’m guilty of it to a degree too. Although I don’t buy any pro sports merch anymore, and only casually watch games. The older I get, the less I can deal with the inconsistencies.

If we held politicians to the same standards we hold the Pats as a country, we wouoldn’t have had the last two POTUS’s beyond W’s first term.

Carroll jumped ship before anyone know it was sinking. I personally believe he knew all about the Reggie Bush bribe and turned a blind eye.

I must give credit where credit is due though. Carroll knows how to motivate and get his guys having fun, and this is a game after all.

I went to some open practices when Carroll was at USC, and it was a fun and energetic atmosphere. Guys were hootin’ and hollerin’, people and the media would show up to interact with the players. It was like one big party and it worked on the field.

I think Carroll took that same mindset with him to Seattle, because those guys look like they are having fun even as grown men. Football at this level is more of a business than a game, and Carroll’s approach to the opposite of that is why I think he is successful in Seattle.

Bill drafts like shit. Please take a pic. First rounder too.
