2014 NFL Thread II

I completely understand that it’s the Eagles, at their house… Big BUT, the recent history of the Eagles putting us out of the playoffs the past two years, the constant yapping of people who say “it’s December, the Cowboys are gonna choke”. I can make a guarantee, 100%, without a doubt, that the Cowboys SHOW THE FUCK UP for this game. It’s Sunday night on NBC Prime-time, just wait until you see how fired up this team is going to be. I CAN’T FREAKING WAIT!!!

They are going to come out and shove the ball down their fucking throat. The passing game is going to be on fire. The defense is going to be swarming to the ball an laying some serious leather. They are going to hit them so hard, there is going to be another crack put in the bell from it.

I don’t know if you watched the Seattle game, but I was completely unimpressed with Philly. The score does not reflect just how bad they got beat.

Matt Ryan is garbage.

I didn’t get to see much of it. I started watching when the score was 24-14 and didn’t tune in completely.

It is going to take what it takes in all games. Get them off the field on 3rd down.

And I would still take him every day and twice on Sunday over Hoyer.

Please please please don’t let this thread go the way of the NBA thread where any and all discussion comes to a halt because people just say ‘it’s all rigged.’

That video is odd(although the pass interference vid I don’t find that questionable, given the single angle we see there he looks like he gets there pretty early and the ball was catchable), bad calls are frustrating, we all get it, but EVEN IF IT SEEMS THAT WAY, it is just incredibly stifling for discussion when people put it on the refs being biased or rigged or whatever.
He hit him the exact same time the ball got there. You can’t time a hit any better than that. I am 100% sure he got flagged for hitting him “too hard”. But hey, if that was the only bad call, I’d write it off as just a bad call. There were a tonne of them last night, and the Bills players were eatting extra ones out of frustration for it (that pass interference was actually declined in favor of an unsportsmanlike for bitching at the refs) which doesn’t help either. Refs aren’t perfect, and some players and teams in this league just get extra call / non-call slack just on their reputation / status. I get that. But you can’t have the Broncos getting away with shit, and just letting them play, while you nit pick everything the other team does. That’s bullshit, and that happens far too often.

Refs aside, Manning had 0 touchdowns, 2 interceptions, and a passer rating of 57 yesterday. Broncos ran for a little over 100 yards total. This should have been a very winnable game for the Bills. Offense was as painful as ever. Doug Marrone going for it on 4th and long early on, and than punting the ball away down by 14 with six minutes left is par for the course. Maybe the Pegulas will can his ass and go buy Harbaugh in the offseason.

At least Browns fans can hang their hopes that Johnny football will fix them, and they will (most likely) have 2 mid first round pics next year to add even more talent at other spots. The Bills will be riding Orton, and an O-line built of flaming trash cans until atleast 2016.

Over Hoyer sure.

Rogers, dat boy good

Packers Seahawks NFC championship game looks like a lock.

Which means it definitely won’t happen, because the NFL be crazy.

I would love to see this. But there’s a lot of football left in the season. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

M Ice is definitely in that 2nd tier of QBs, only below the elite guys.

He can play from the pocket, make all the throws, make the right pre-snap reads, run the no-huddle etc, and there’s small handful in the entire league who can say the same.

All those OL injuries last year and this year don’t diminish his ability.

Man Atlanta(and GB’s defense) sure made that a game. I had it on but had begun focusing on other things at halftime, only to turn and realize they were within 2 scores and had possession with plenty of time left.

Yeah I doubt the Browns beat out the Ravens and Cincy, the steelers have been weird this year, their D shows up every few games and gets the job done their offence with Rapistburger, Brown and bell have been doing well. I give it up to talent but I hate the steelers. The calls were in their favour this sunday, semed to be a ,bs call after bs call ie holding/illegal block aka playing football.Andy gets crushed with a late hit no call, defenseless receiver hit to the head no call. Some consistency would be nice with the flag throwing.

Of course I’m a Raven’s fan, so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but I think the Raven’s win the division and not by chance. They are the best team in the North. Like you said Cincy and Cleveland are fading and pretty fast. Pittsburgh could easily have 11-12 wins, but lost the “easy” games (Tampa, Jags, Jets, & Saints). The Raven’s have issues and aren’t a dominant team, but they’ve only lost to playoff contenders (Indy, Pittsburgh, San Diego, & Cincy).

They also have the easiest remaining schedule (Jags, Texans, and Browns). The only thing right now that scares me is the secondary and Ngata being suspended.

San Diego fans are in for another disappointing year…That schedule is rough.

They are like the Cowboys, paper champions.

Some bizarre rumour that we might trade Alex Smith and picks for RG3. We have no offensive line and shite recievers, this would be an utter disaster. I really hope it is total nonsense. Need to keep the picks and improve the team. Smith is a perfect care taker until we can find a QB of the future. Do not want a broken news story with a questionable attitude.
That would be a really stupid trade.

The line play has been killing this team for years. Atl’s problem begins and ends in the trenches. No QB is good with less than 2 seconds in the pocket. No defense is good with out a pass rush.

Atl’s problems are explainable to injuries, why the injuries keep happening to the same positions is a bit puzzling.
The Saints are the mystery to me. They are pretty much intact healthwise they just went from suck to blow…
I mean I hate the Saints, but objectively I don’t understand why they suck.

Yeah, its weird. Secondary issues come into play a little consider they are on 4th string safeties and everyone they spent money on to try to shore up their traditional Achilles heel is out. But, they aren’t putting up points either. That being a factor would only make sense if they were losing in shoot-outs, not getting absolutely blasted by the Panthers in the Dome where they have sucked terribly this year.
