AND WHY IN THE FUCK ARE THE GOD DAM REFS FIST BUMPING ON BRONCO TOUCH DOWNS?!

That is pretty crazy.

that fist bump was just for being on top of / making the right call. Stop being dramatic. Go Pats!

Any other year I’d be down with this explanation too.

After last week’s “12 men” call when there was 11 on the field, which came after some seriously questionable calls before that…

I’m like 80% convinced Vegas has gotten to the Refs, or they are betting games.

See Travis Kelce’s magic non fumble and Fasano’s no existent PI call from yesterday.

Please please please don’t let this thread go the way of the NBA thread where any and all discussion comes to a halt because people just say ‘it’s all rigged.’

That video is odd(although the pass interference vid I don’t find that questionable, given the single angle we see there he looks like he gets there pretty early and the ball was catchable), bad calls are frustrating, we all get it, but EVEN IF IT SEEMS THAT WAY, it is just incredibly stifling for discussion when people put it on the refs being biased or rigged or whatever.

Agreed. You are never going to get it 100% and I know that we cant keep people from complaining in here, lets control that to keep from spiraling to that point of tin foil hat please.

I was so incredibly disappointed in the Brown’s offense yesterday. I know it’s just piling on at this point, but Hoyer missed two 100% touchdowns on deep play action passes, and threw a bad red zone pick. Some of the other offensive woes are on other players- Gordon clearly isn’t 100% yet, Cameron was clearly not 100% either in his first week back, and our two rookie backs are inconsistent at best at hitting holes with conviction and running patiently behind blocks.

When Leonard got the 4th quarter interception of Luck in Indy territory I said they should put Johnny in right there. It was, at the time, a chance for an incredible momentum shift, and I feel like Johnny is the type of player that feeds off that energy, and the players have said as much in the past week(and they also mentioned feeding off of him as well). I have no more clue than anyone else outside of the team what he can bring long term, but the game was so obviously slipping away, and Hoyer wasn’t doing anything to change that.

That was a hard loss, I was routing for the Browns.

Both me and the father in law just looked at each other and said “I feel so bad for Brown’s fans.”

But the offense just sucked… Winnable game by a long shot and a total kick in the nuts.

I say a lot of that in jest, and you have to understand this year has see the Pats get more flags than any in recent history, so it is a sore subject.

Do I think something is going on? Yes.
Do I know that good teams that play well will overcome shit officiating? Yes.

The refs can’t interfere as much in football as other sports, and generally get it right. But there have been some strange things called that make you go “hmmmm”.

The one against the pats, right? Things happen so fast on the field its impossible for the refs to get everything right. Look at the call on Browner last night. Text book hit, yet it over turns an int. Just an honest mistake.

EDIT: I see you’re a pats fan. I love you

ALTHOUGH, if you want to go full conspiracy, remember when the NFL locked out the refs over pocket change? Robert Kraft is one of the most influential owners and I am sure his cheap ass was leading the charge on that. Pay back is a bitch!

I am almost ready for them to just start Manziel already so that the Browns can go ahead and crash and burn. Not saying Hoyer is great, just that he is much better than Manzeil will be.

I don’t think we can tell how good Manziel will be until he is given an honest shot. I rarely like guys who’s hype precede their talent cough Tebow or RG3 cough cough. From what I have seen Manziel do he may actually turn out to be better than Hoyer. Would I start him over him this year? Maybe, they are still in the hunt to take the division and make the playoffs. I think their chances are better in Hoyer since he is more experienced , that being said they would be insane to not start him next year if Hoyer tanks the next three games. They already put him in prior so it is kind of strange how they are letting it play out. If he goes in and succeeds your a genius if he sucks your fired, glad I am not making the call. I think he will be good bottom line he plays the game well,

They’re a long shot at this point.

Not even close to accurate. Brian Hoyer had a 55% pass completion percentage for his College career. Brian Hoyer was 16-11 as a starter at MSU. Brian Hoyer has a pro completion percent of basically 55%. He is at best a back-up QB in this league. Hoyer is about as far from great as you can get in the NFL. I think it would be best for Hoyer to go to Canada, or Arena.

I agree with some of this.

I am not saying this because I am a Manziel fan. (which I admit I am) How can you justify starting Hoyer again? It’s not like Hoyer is having a decent game and the Browns are losing on a fluke or bad timing pick. The Browns as a whole team are putting themselves in a position to win, with the exception of one player. The Fucking QB, who couldn’t hit water if he fell out of a boat in the middle of the ocean!!!

Yeah all sign point to putting him in at this point I was trying to understand the rationale of having him stay. There seems to be less and less. He would be a better backup option. The boys have their hands full this week buddy, I think they win if they show up.
