M Ice is definitely in that 2nd tier of QBs, only below the elite guys.
He can play from the pocket, make all the throws, make the right pre-snap reads, run the no-huddle etc, and there’s small handful in the entire league who can say the same.
All those OL injuries last year and this year don’t diminish his ability.
The line play has been killing this team for years. Atl’s problem begins and ends in the trenches. No QB is good with less than 2 seconds in the pocket. No defense is good with out a pass rush.
Atl’s problems are explainable to injuries, why the injuries keep happening to the same positions is a bit puzzling.
The Saints are the mystery to me. They are pretty much intact healthwise they just went from suck to blow…
I mean I hate the Saints, but objectively I don’t understand why they suck.
He also brought the game back against the hottest team in the league right now, to within one possession with a legit shot. I ain’t saying the Falcons are good because they are not, but this season is not Matt Ryan’s fault. He’s made his share of mistakes. He has no protection, everything is under duress.
I suppose you are entitled to hate who ever you want, but you cannot say the guy legit sucks because that’s just not the truth.

I was so incredibly disappointed in the Brown’s offense yesterday. I know it’s just piling on at this point, but Hoyer missed two 100% touchdowns on deep play action passes, and threw a bad red zone pick. Some of the other offensive woes are on other players- Gordon clearly isn’t 100% yet, Cameron was clearly not 100% either in his first week back, and our two rookie backs are inconsistent at best at hitting holes with conviction and running patiently behind blocks.
When Leonard got the 4th quarter interception of Luck in Indy territory I said they should put Johnny in right there. It was, at the time, a chance for an incredible momentum shift, and I feel like Johnny is the type of player that feeds off that energy, and the players have said as much in the past week(and they also mentioned feeding off of him as well). I have no more clue than anyone else outside of the team what he can bring long term, but the game was so obviously slipping away, and Hoyer wasn’t doing anything to change that.
That was a hard loss, I was routing for the Browns.
Both me and the father in law just looked at each other and said “I feel so bad for Brown’s fans.”
But the offense just sucked… Winnable game by a long shot and a total kick in the nuts.
I am almost ready for them to just start Manziel already so that the Browns can go ahead and crash and burn. Not saying Hoyer is great, just that he is much better than Manzeil will be.
Not even close to accurate. Brian Hoyer had a 55% pass completion percentage for his College career. Brian Hoyer was 16-11 as a starter at MSU. Brian Hoyer has a pro completion percent of basically 55%. He is at best a back-up QB in this league. Hoyer is about as far from great as you can get in the NFL. I think it would be best for Hoyer to go to Canada, or Arena.
Not even close to making sense. This aint college. Ask RG3, Geno Smith, Tim Tebow, Colt McCoy or a host of other QB’s. QB’s with Manziel’s skillset (run a lot, panic and throw a jump ball because I forgot to go thru my reads) do not succeed in the NFL and the physical punishment they receive make them useless to teams because they never manage to play 16 games. Manziel is not an NFL QB. He cant pass well enough and he better thank his lucky stars that he had Mike Evans at A&M to keep bailing him out and get him paid.

Hottest offense in the league. Their defense is okay. I don’t hate him either. I do; however, have to hear the Matt Ryan Joe Flacco comparison all the time and it drives me nuts.
Ryan is fine. I’d take him over a lot of other qbs in the league. I just thought that pick was bad.

Yeah, its weird. Secondary issues come into play a little consider they are on 4th string safeties and everyone they spent money on to try to shore up their traditional Achilles heel is out. But, they aren’t putting up points either. That being a factor would only make sense if they were losing in shoot-outs, not getting absolutely blasted by the Panthers in the Dome where they have sucked terribly this year.
I agree, the offensive drought makes zero sense. The defensive woes make a little sense, they’ve been there before and are getting a bit old, but offense should be solid and they should not be losing at home like they are.

I am of course that is my team. And I do like what they have done this year, other then the Defense. I still think JJ could have built that up the same time he was building the OL.

Well their safety valve, Jimmy Graham, hasn’t been playing like himself this year (just ask my fantasy teams that were knocked out due to him). His shoulder definitely seems to be bothering him. He didn’t get any targets at all 2 weeks ago and now when he does get them he doesn’t seem to be pulling them in. But other than Jimmy, the rest of the offense should be ok.
I think getting rid of Sproles was a bad idea possibly too

Yeah, you put up 37 pts in this league you should win. The Falcons D was garbage last night, but with that said, can the Pack make a SB run if that D doesn’t get better??
I had the Packers and the Broncos in the Superbowl before the season started this year but that is looking less than likely.

I don’t really think they would have felt Sproles leaving had Khiry Robinson, Pierre Thomas, and Mark Ingram all had to miss time this season. Some for extended periods and many times a overlapping.
I think Matt Ryan is just sick with Ihavetowineverygameallbymyselfitis. It’s a degenerative disease that good quarterbacks catch and never recover from.

I’ve actually thought the GB Defense has looked good lately- they held Brady in check pretty well. Julio Jones burning them last night was more of an outlier at this point.
Johnny getting the official nod. Finally, everyone, haters and apologists alike, can start talking about what he is actually doing, instead of what we think he can or cannot.
I’m excited to watch him play. That doesn’t mean I have amazing expectations, I’m just excited.
Browns gonna start Johnny Football this week. Still don’t think he’s better than Hoyer in the short term, but it’s certainly the right move at this point. He needs time under center to develop for next year so he doesn’t shoot them in the foot next season. That team is too loaded with talent to keep losing.
I didn’t watch him in college at all except for the odd highlight so last week against Buffalo is all I’ve really seen of him. I’d be worried about ball protection if I was a brown’s fan.
He’s very close to getting picked off at the 40 second mark (a better corner than Searcy would have had that), and that fumble / forward pass / pump fake / tuck is too close for comfort. I’m not familiar with his throwing motion but his arm is crossing his body there, and hand is awful low for a release, looks like a tuck to me, but I’m biased. Either way it may have been wiser just to dive on the fumble and eat that play rather than try to make something of it. Kids got balls though. I’ll give him that. Good luck to browns fans.

It’ll be interesting. No doubt about that. Hopefully he’s been putting in extra snaps with Gordon.
This is going to be an exciting Sunday of football for me
