If the Bills make it to 10-6 I expect them to make the playoffs. Unfortunately losing to the Broncos last week means they’ll be playing the Pats starters in Foxborough. They will have Spiller back, so the offense will be better, but at the end of the day they have to beat Belichick. I’ve been watching that guy make the Bills his bitch since Superbowl 25. The Bills have never won at Gillette stadium, and the Pats offense is built to beat the Bills Defense. Tight ends need to fuck right off. I’d love to see it happen. But I do not like their odds.

10-6 doesn’t get Bills in the playoffs automatically. They will be a lot of 10-6 or better teams in the AFC.

Nothing is automatic. I just expect the 49ers (at home) to beat the Chargers, the steelers (at home) to beat the Chiefs, and the Broncos to win at the Bengals this week, and than the Steelers to win (at home) next week vs. the Bengals. I don’t any of those picks would be a stretch. I don’t think there’s gonna be many 10-6 teams in the AFC.
What I’m saying is that I consider beating the Patriots at home when their number one seeding will be at stake to be a much larger problem for the Bills playoff hopes than the outside help they’d need.

Man, in this league and with home field advantage you just never know. I could see the Saints or Falcons pulling a round 1 upset. [/quote]

I don’t even think you can call it an upset if they end up playing the Cardinals starting some guy they picked up at the airport at quarterback. Unless it’s the Panthers in which case we’ll have to name it the Hobo bowl.

That’s probably true. This is one instance where being the 4th seed will actually workout better than being the 3rd with the wheels coming off a little bit for the Cardinals.

Well, 3 of the 4 teams in the North only need 1 win to be 10-6. If Buffalo goes 10-6 that’s 4 teams. Plus the Bills have to beat the Patriots to hit 10 wins, which I find unlikely as they’ll still more than likely be fighting for the #1 seed. 9 wins won’t do it for the Bills, sorry.

The Ravens and Steelers are gonna go 11-5, and the Bengals will be 9-6-1.

Either way it’s gonna be interesting to see how the AFC north teams will do in the play offs though. As a division they probably had the easiest schedule in the league this season playing the NFC south, and AFC south.

I went to my first Chargers game in over two years. Now I remember why I don’t go to games anymore. Qualcomm stadium blows everything is so damn expensive. That plus the offense sucks, haha. Is this the same team that beat the Seahawks and Ravens? Now watch them win their two remaining games and not make it to the playoffs, that would be the Chargers way.

I’m really hoping they dismantle the offensive line in the offseason and draft or sign some new guys. Get rid of my body is made of glass Ryan Matthews and draft a RB in the later rounds to go with Woodhead. Get a speed WR. That’s just the offensive side of the ball…

So what do the Browns do?? Tie themselves to the anchor that is Johnny Manziel for the remaining games and the first few of next year or do they go ahead and start thinking about doing something different for next year since they obviously have lost faith in Hoyer (not undeservedly)?

Also, on another note, was Jordy Nelson betting on the Bills? Holy hell he played awful.

Finally, how stupid is that fumble recovery rule?

I can’t quite comprehend the reason for the fumble recovery rule. It’s dumb for sure.

I don’t know what the Browns are gonna do. Although, if they go into the draft with 2 mid first round picks they might just be able to trade up to mutual benefit with the Raiders and nab the top QB.

Or knowing the Raiders, trade a pic for Carr and let them draft Winston. Sounds about right.

I expected more out of Manziel in his first start. His first pick was not a great throw, but he needs help from his receiver there. I haven’t seen the Browns play football in years. Manziel didn’t play good, had a bad game, but damn that kid got ZERO help. There were a least a handful of passes that weren’t in the perfect location but, are not difficult catches to make. I got the feeling watching them play that the team was sick of hearing about Johnny Football and didn’t show up 100% committed to playing their best football. Kinda understandable or rather predictable even though I didn’t see it coming.

Moving forward I think you have to go with Manziel the rest of this season. It’s his first NFL start. I think his post game conference was excellent. The way he handled himself should have won over a few of the vets. If Manziel comes to work this week like a professional he will have enough of the locker room (his offensive line) ready to go to work with him.

People have posted on here about motivation to play shouldn’t be a factor at the pro level. I agree with this to a point. But, when you have lineman that go to war in the trenches week in and week out at the end of a season have to hear everyone start to go ape-shit about a flashy qb about to take over, it can rub them the wrong way. Especially when the qb is taking over a qb that has shown that he is very professional about his job. Don’t get me wrong Hoyer doesn’t have the talent to be a NFL starting qb but he isn’t cocky or flashy either. He seems to be a professional, probably one of the reasons he is in the league in the first place, because it is not his skill.

Manziel’s post game conference was very impressive, and will carry weight with his teammates going forward.

I don’t think it’s Manziel’s fault that people ‘quit’ or looked unmotivated. I mean that in all the figurative ways it can be taken as well(so, including the media frenzy around him as ‘his fault’). Quotes form the Browns’ players previously have shown a level of excitement at him getting playing time, I think if anything it just came too late(and obviously this level of play from him wouldn’t have won games anyway), and the metaphorical wheels had already fallen off. Even with a win @ the Bengals they don’t control their own fate for the division or the playoffs. That game last week against Indy felt like a giant breaking point in the season.

That’s my take as a fan that listens to a lot of local media.

Johnny was awful though.

It’s good to see something from someone who is close to ground zero.

I actually did watch the entire Browns game this time. Before I have just watched pieces. There was not an ounce of anything in that game that would lead you to believe that Johnny Manziel is even backup QB capable in the NFL. He played like he used to play in college. He panicked, ran around a lot or hopped back and forth in the pocket, took off and tried to throw a jump ball.

The problem with that is, he isn’t even really that athletic by NFL standards, the things he used to do will no longer work, if you believe you can totally change everything about the kid that has made him successful to this point and turn him into something totally different, then you think he can be an NFL QB. I would try to draft someone if I was the Browns, and this time make it an actual NFL style QB, like maybe a Sean Mannion from Oregon St that they could pick up with a late pick considering this class of QB’s is very weak.

There was NO bright spot or flash to give any Browns fan hope. The boy is not going to make it in the NFL. He is Tebow2.0

Thats the deal the Browns have NEVER drafted a Franchise QB, Kosar was the only thing every close to that in the franchise history.

My boy is seven. He was born in Dallas, but we moved to the PacNW when he was very young. Nevertheless, he has declared himself a Dallas fan. You can run, but you can’t hide.

I think its great. We are going to be able root against each other for the rest of our lives. Dallas is my second, default team anyway.

I also made it a point to tell him that he was born in Dallas and no matter what he will always be a Texan–for good or for bad. I felt like I could not deprive him of that part of his heritage just because his mom and dad moved him to Starbucks land.
