Incredible lifting. Jaw.Floor.
You’re awful quiet.
Not something I’m accused of often, Barry.
Been very busy. Haven’t had much time to follow people here so haven’t been posting. Lots of new people on here. Been in 5 T&F meets and a couple of Highland games since my last post. Finished my T&F season Saturday and I’ve got 2 more highland games coming up. Lifting has been going really great and I’ve incorporated some different lifts into my workouts. Swimming as much as ever but that’s as much for the head as the body. Spending a lot of time on post office union stuff and that’s a serious pain in the ass. The heat’s been brutal but there’s always the river to cool off at the end of the day.
Every time I promise to start posting more, I don’t, so I won’t promise. Gonna try though. Really nice hearing from you.
Harry, people at work are pushing me to try the highland games here in NH. I don’t know the events to trian for though. Are there standard events every highland game has? And if you wouldn’t mind listing them for me that would be great. Thank you. Steve
Great to see you’re still posting at least once in awhile.
I’m still a card carrying member of the Harry Fan Club.

Steve, run down the page to the illustration showing the throwing area. Tis is what all forward throws are made from.
http://www.heavyevents.com/rules/index.php
If they have an over 40 master’s divison you’ll throw the 42# weight instead of the 56#.
Some meets do 9 events, some less.
You’ve got to wear a kilt:
open stone - stone instead of a shot put, you can glide, skoot, or rotate. Usually around 16#
braemar stone - heavier stone, you have to throw it from the power position. No forward movement. Around 22#.
Weight throw for distance, 28# and 42#
Weight over bar = 42#
Light hammer/heavy hammer, 16# & 22# respectively
Sheaf toss = 16#
caber
How to make ghetto throwing weights and hammers if you want. (click side option to change from weight to hammer). Nice big rocks for the stone.

You tube is your friend. Thousands of throwing vids. Good luck and let me know if you need any more help. MJ’s certifiable, I mean a certified official. He may be able to help.

Thanks Harry. I’m going to read over everything this weekend. Being part Scott I have no problem wearing a kilt.

Sorry I didn’t answer this, Steve. Work out is:
chest/tri
shoulders/bi
legs/back
swim/throw
As for exact lifts I’ll do each session I pretty well go by feel, e.g., I know I’m going to do cleans but I decide on hang vs full once I get to the gym.
In case no one’s noticed, it’s damn hot out there. Had to cool off in the gym afterwork yesterday before I could warm up.
