2012 Comp Season

I was just joking.

Jeez Harry I want to be you when I grow up. Great lifting.

George, lots of limbs down out in the back but none that bothered any powerlines. Some of the naked trees behind me are Hackberry and limbs fall off all the time, snow or not.
Null, yup, got Monday of. Arguing now whether it’ll be admin leave or charged as annual. Most of the roads were termed “impassable”. Paid for that little bit of vacation on Tuesday and Wednesday. Things are still pretty frozen today, temp hasn’t gone above -3 C. Suppose to get above freezing tomorrow snd the weekend so the snow should melt off.

Not done tellin stories yeti, punny.
Speaking of snow. It’s fun to play in, nice to look at, and sucks the big one to walk in all day. Got up this morning and I could feel the affects of 2 days walking through it in my legs. Chalking that up to GPP.

[/quote]Hmmmmm… as usual great training with lots of power. Checking in with you. Hope the New Year smiles upon you!

do you still have snow? rained an inch last night and melted much of ours away. should be warmish this week, then winter will stomp us again next week

Impressive training, poundage and volume.

If you don’t mind I’m going to ignore the indoor pool stuff and envisage you chiseling a hole in the ice and still swimming in the river.

I think it suits the image I have of you more!

I’m not a snow lover myself, but make the most of it. We had it for 3 weeks and now it’s gone everything seems to look dirty and grey.

Really glad to hear from you, Jimmy. Hope you and the family are doing great.
Thanks FB. Always remember, “when the legend becomes fact, print the legend”.

Harry might be wise like Yoda, but Harry definitely ain’t growed up.

Thanks Schmidt,
I think I’m regressing PG. Hell of a lot more fun than sittin on the park bench with old folk discussin aches and pains and the weather.

last night

Great training. Strange all snow you’ve been getting lately. Your winters are becoming more like ours up here.

I call dibs on being able to say “up here” with regards to latitude, snowpack, and all thigns winter related. 39 years in this country and I’m still not acclimated to winter.

Nice sprints. You’re a pretty well rounded athlete.

Thanks, CK. You know, the sprints were in the pool, not running.
We got a little more global warming this morning. Just a light coat of snow. Not enough to close anything down this time.

Off today and getting a late start to the gym. Probably ain’t gonna do nothing but have a cup of coffee and a good sweat in the sauna. Did nothing last night so today is just story tellin time. You’re warned.

Misbehaved last night. For those of you who haven’t thought about it, been bout 20 years (damn) since our first little tiff over in the sandbox. As a good percentage of our mail carriers are retired GIs, we figured it fitting we have a quick toast after work at the Legion. Started as one drink and turned into a rollin drunk. My brothers called from the VFW. so we headed over there.

Course we had to toast everyone’s particular war, conflict, skirmish, incursion, peace keeping action, etc. Couldn’t leave no one out. We certainly showed due diligence in our resolve to toast evryone. Think we’d just started our planned invasion of the Bahamas when a sister in law and several wives showed to take us home. Yes, I am hungover, bad.

Just to make this a little longer.
Twenty years ago I was assigned to a “special” Joint Task Force (JTF) made up of all the services and about to do a certain “special thing” in Desert Storm. Prior to us doing our “special thing”, a General came in and gave us an inspiring gung ho speech. Then the Colonel, then the…basically the whole damn officer corp wanted to make sure we knew how proud they be if we got our asses shot off.

Course, none of them were gonna accompany us. We’re sitting there, full combat gear, loaded down with equipment, ready to go. Finally, this damn 2nd lieuie, ring knocker (West Point) gets up to inspire us. From the back of the tent comes, “oh hell no, he don’t even shave.” And a cassette player start blasting out just the right music for the occasion. (hope it comes out) We walked out. Never did get to hear the lieutenant’s speech. Bet it was inspirational.
Sorry for being long wind. Thanks for listening. It does help.

Good man, a bunch of my buddies are GI’s and when we start drinking it turns into a slagging off the other guy’s service branches.

Nice story! Shiit, I was a 9th grader when DS started… You never can go wrong with The Clash!

Harry, your “story tellin time” is my absolute favorite. Thank you.

TELL ANOTHER ONE!!! TELL ANOTHER ONE!!!

I like the story. A good reminder to those of us who may be entitled to “speak in front of the crowd” that sometimes it’s best just to shut the f##k up.

Ok, everyone. Go wash up, brush your teeth, put on your jammies, hop in bed, and there might just be time for another story before lights out.
Awoke this morning fully recovered and feeling great after my unplanned 2 day deload. Hit the gym real early.

You sure know how to treat a woman right. Oh, and be sure to wear the kilt on your date. That will be the icing on the cake.

Ms Snap, wife still calls it my Irish dress thing. I quit correcting her.
Wife’s birthday, wife’s day
Started at the gym.
She does a full body work out one day and cardio the next.
I looked across the gym and she was doing skullcrushers. The flourescent lights were catching the knurling of the 30# chrome ez curl bar she was using and I could here the soft little clink of the weights at the end of each rep. Feel in love all over again.
Did Shoulders and Tris.
Fixed her favorite breakfast - kippers, sliced tomatoes, eggs, english muffins.
Made the rounds of relatives
Ate at Ruth’s Chris Steak house - delicious calamari in a spicy Thai sauce, A 40oz porterhouse for 2 (mainly me) with a seared blue cheese crust, huge mushrooms, creamy spinach, giant chocolate mousse they gave her for her birthday (hell, I’m hungry again).
Coffee at Starbucks
Home to beaucoup messages from overseas relatives
Video to come
Six day work coming up so may be hitting the gym/pool late.
