2012 Comp Season

HEL those are great stories. I would love a steak from Ruth Chris, but long for a night of toasting. I seem to remember the taste of beer.

Belated Happy Birthday to your bride. Great training and stay warm! Ruth’s Chris sounded great! Makes me want to hope over to the one in Va Beach for a big ole steak!

She does a full body work out one day and cardio the next.
I looked across the gym and she was doing skullcrushers. The flourescent lights were catching the knurling of the 30# chrome ez curl bar she was using and I could here the soft little clink of the weights at the end of each rep. Feel in love all over again.

SO very sweet!
Tell her Happy Birthday from us.

Poterhouse curls are how champions are made.

Congrats Harry! Well done with the PR and placing 1st and 2nd, always nice to it it against good competition too![/quote]

Indeed, gratz.

A friend of my daughter’s got married. Groom wore a kilt. Looked very formal, made me think of you.

Cousin Harry, once again I have to say, you know how to live. give our collective best to your bride.

I had just started graduate school when desert storm happened, I think I’d been out for less than a year. I thought they were gonna call me back. My fiance was mad at me, cuz I was actually hoping they’d call me back. but they seemed to do okay without me…

how’d the ‘special thing’ come off?

Thanks all. I’ve decided to keep her for a least another year (or til she gets tired of me).
MJ, worked real good for us, no casualties, few wounded (damn, I guess all them speeches really did work!). An “elite” Republican gaurd unit wasn’t real happy, though.
Back to what we’re here for.

Do you do your ‘stiff leg deads’ with straight legs or bent slightly like RDL style and not lock out?

Steely, the stiff legged DLs I do straight legged, bar close to body. RDls with a slight bend but the bar out from the body. One for lower back, rdls mainly for hammies. I’m not standing on a bench or anything, though. Just going from floor up and back.

Whine.
Sob.
Wimper.
Whine, sob, and whimper.
Weather turned beautiful today. Got home early, no overtime, and just had to throw.
Changed clothes real quick, headed out back. Shot felt nice and light.
And went nowhere.
I sucked. I expected to be a little rusty, stiff, etc., but I plain sucked. I think I managed a 35’ (10.66m) power position throw. I need to do some serious stretching and form work.
My one dog kinda summed up my performance by crapping in the middle of my throwing area while I was retrieving a shot.
On to plan 2.
On a good note, got an invite to a Highland Game at Gatlinburg, Tn in May. Big resort town.

First time back after a layoff always sucks for me. The distances should increase rapidly for a while.

at least you got to throw!

Great to see y’all having some weather! You always set the bar high with your training Harry. Great work!

Headin in for my 6th day of work, then off Monday & Tuesday. Weather was simply beautiful yesterday and suppose to stay that way for the next couple of days.

Hell, last year I scooted half the time. In the 60’s and 70’s I was a glider. In th 80’s I was rotational. Saw the advise you got on your shot putting question. Really good insightful stuff.
Been working out very hard. Two meets have already snuck up on me. Highland Game, this coming Saturday, 12 Feb, Chattanooga, and T&F meet against the colleges again, 5 Mar. Post if i get pix.

Good luck in the meet Harry.

Good luck on the meet Harry. I’m sure you are going to knock then dead!
