2012 Comp Season

It aint’ no heavy metal, weren’t lip syned, weren’t canned, weren’t real glamourous but damn it was great entertainment back then. And if you got a few extra minutes take the time, watch the whole thing and listen to Neil talk in the middle.

i used to love watching those old shows with my dad. johnny cash, smuthers brothers, etc. good fun. i always liked it when they told a story in the middle of a song like that. thanks for the memory.

We’re getting old MJ. I was 15 when that show was on. Noticed a lot of the new people on here are in their 30’s which gives me almost 20 years on a lot of them. Might have to add a Senile Lifter Forum soon for some of us.
Anyway, climbed out of bed this morning, put my teeth in, changed my Depends, put on my old robe and slippers, mixed up a big glass of metamucil and made a nice bowl of prunes. Made the long trek down the drive way to get the Sunday paper, checked the obituaries, caught a couple of Golden Girl reruns and finally decided to head to the gym.

Felt good this morning. Haven’t been pushing it enough lately. Made coffee in the office and hit the sauna for some, attempted, stretching and a good sweat. Showered and headed down the road to Waffle House (prunes didn’t fill me up). Big breakfast. Flirted with the waitresses in between bites of pancake. They’re younguns, only around 40 or so. Went by the grocery store which has been picked clean. People real worried about the predicted snow. We get as much snow as predicted I don’t see me making it to work. Main concern here is the weight on the power lines. Got about a rick of cut wood out back so we can use the fireplace if needed. Could be romantic. The wife and I, bottle of wine, some cheese and meat, in front of a roaring fire, …with 5 dogs packed in with us.

Same here Harry, people who don’t like PB&J sammies bought all the PB up anyway.

Snowbound. 11" over night. In Alabama and all over the southland. Local channel this morning “All roads in Madison county are impassable.” Nothing to do but eat, nap, eat, nap, etc. Hey, this snow stuff ain’t half bad.

11" of snow in the land of Clan MacBubba? It Just Aint Right! we only got 2" over the weekend. at 4k ft. guess i’ll have to move to Alabama for the skiing soon?

Eating alternated with napping sounds like a good time. Good training too.

It snowed in Dallas Sunday too. Or so I was told. I got a light rain here. Just enough for some mud on the rocks. I think your snow plan sounds like a winner. Get some beer in as well. At least one of us has to.

You got real snow?

We got two inches of ice. Whole damn city is shot to hell.

Good lifting and swimming… as usual.

South of Finland isn’t quite Alabama but at one point we had nearly 30" of snow! It’s nice when it lights up the winter dark, but enough is enough.

Thanks everyone. I’m having a great time. Just kicked the kids down the roads collective asses in an all out, no hold bars, snow ball fight. Getting in the required 5 meals a day. Wife finally made come in. I know, only those that don’t have to live with it enjoy it this much. My wife got a pix of a yeti tryin to drag her out into the snow. Didn’t know yeti’ were so handsome.

Snow is beautiful and tons of fun, but a pain in the ass when it comes time to move it.

looks like great fun Harry - did you get much tree branch breakage from all that wet, heavy white stuff?

Cool, It is pretty, if you don’t have to shovel it.

did you get the day off?
Did they close the roads?

And I didn’t know yeti were such great storytellers. Fiction is as fiction does I guess.

George, lots of limbs down out in the back but none that bothered any powerlines. Some of the naked trees behind me are Hackberry and limbs fall off all the time, snow or not.
Null, yup, got Monday of. Arguing now whether it’ll be admin leave or charged as annual. Most of the roads were termed “impassable”. Paid for that little bit of vacation on Tuesday and Wednesday. Things are still pretty frozen today, temp hasn’t gone above -3 C. Suppose to get above freezing tomorrow snd the weekend so the snow should melt off.

Not done tellin stories yeti, punny.
Speaking of snow. It’s fun to play in, nice to look at, and sucks the big one to walk in all day. Got up this morning and I could feel the affects of 2 days walking through it in my legs. Chalking that up to GPP.

Quick question. You refer to a few of us in here as young guns. I have to disagree. since I have several gray chest hairs. By the way great lifting as always.

Nice work- the Set for the Johnny Cash show was awesome-

Snow is fun for a few hours then it sucks ass

Younguns, slang for young ones, and you didn’t ask a question. I refer to most in here, exceptions for Old Navy, Barry, Carl, a few others, as younguns. Some I’ve got 15-20 years on so to me, they’re young. I was getting grey at 25 (head, chest is bald). Didn’t mean to use the Y-word or for it to sound negative. I’ll add that to my list of no-no’s which seems to be growing.

Swam.
