2012 Comp Season

It’s like a male version of Marilyn Monroe standing on the blowing grate.

Good job fitting in with the A throwers. Too bad the season is over now. But it is just that much more time to consolidate your technique improvements. Looking forward to what you do next year.

Way to go with the A guys. I agree with Carl, you are hitting your stride. I bet you will play hell next year.

That’s a good one, Snapper.

All the action shots with skirt flying made me think “Dances With Weights”.

Amazing job keeping up with the young’uns Harry.

Thanks MJ. If I get to chose I’m stayin away from that damn 56# for distance.
George, I always have fun at these things. Having competed in a lot of different sports I can honestly say I’ve never seen another sport where everyone is so honestly cheering each other on and giving advice.
Marilyn Monroe, now that’s ok. In “Some Like it Hot”, both Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon were in dresses most of the movie.
Carl, got the Senior O on the brain now. Want to put up some respectable numbers. Gonna really hit the shot for a while. Highland throws are improving but not so much the T&F.
Wilson, I hope from now on I can play with the old guys. Been a long year, lots of comps. Need to do some maintenance now.
Punny, I’ll tack my kilt down for decorum sakes next time.

Nice lifting, I could use some help stretching…

No seriously, I slack on stretching a lot, and I pay for it oo.

Did squats and back last night. My internet is acting all crappy all of a sudden. Called the provider who kept trying to upgrade me. “This one ain’t working right so you want me pay more for one to work like crap?” Will post more when fixed.

Looks like next year will be great.

Damn those meets look like as lot of fun. Great work in here, as usual.

Thanks Elai and Jack. The games are a real blast Jack.

My 3rd oldest brother’s wife’s sister’s grandson works the front desk of the gym. Super kid, love’s the weights, in his second year of college and studying to be a nurse anesthetist. He’s always either lifting or got his nose in a school book. Seems the owner of the gym hired a new girl to work there. Competes as a figure model and trainer. “She is so, so, hot, Uncle”. Wife was with me so he got the whole, “stay in school, study hard, don’t worry about girls, you’re still a baby, find a nice girl after you graduate,…” speech. Gave me that “save me” look and one plantive cry of “Uncle, don’t leave me” as I headed into the weight room. I could hear his “yes, Auntie, I will Auntie, I promise Auntie” fading away as I started my work out.

Took an afternoon swim, 1000m, and did some jumps and lopes across the yard in the afternoon. Feel asleep on the back deck with a couple hundred pounds of assorted dogs sharing my hammock.

Your log is like good literature Harry. But between all the good lifting, events, and family time the Sr. O comment wasn’t overlooked. It stood out like a big neon sign.

We’re not all like that.

The funniest thing is to visit my gym between 5-8 pm on a Friday night. It’s such a meat market. Both the men and women (all pretty much 20-somethings) primping and preening and flexing and doing nothing of any consequence training-wise.[/quote]

I HAVE to try this one nite!!!

Dang, Harry, throwing with the As and keeping up is pretty dang impressive, especially at your advanced…um…level of wisdom. Sounds like you had some large land mammals throwing with you, too.

Props for the movie reference.

I agree. Plus, there’s the kilt pics. But I better stop there.

That is super impressive in one workout. I’d be fried and ready to sleep after that.

keep tearing it up. Have you considered doing a powerlifting meet over the winter, just to keep you busy?
