1500m swim

Weighing @ 233# (home scales). Postal shorts are starting to slide down so tightening the belt another notch Shirts are tight across the shoulders and legs are even getting a wee bit bigger. Tree says at the gym the other day, “man, you’re really getting f…kin, bigger. Ain’t you a lil bit old for puberty?” And yeah, I get the, “sir, are you, you know, like, takin…anything?” Not tellin this to stroke my ego (ok, a little). Kinda scary finding myself growing at this age. Feel like maybe I’ll turn 60 or some age and it’ll all catch up with me and I’ll just deflate.

Long post, confussing, I know. But then, 82.63987% of my subprime 1 and 3/4 max based on the tidal pull of the moon don’t always make sense to me, either. Reader’s digest version, I lifted, I swam, I plan to conguer.

You’re the man Harry, anything else would be redundant.

DAMN!! with training like that, You are going to close out the season with an explosion!!

[quote]JoeGood wrote:

I repeat this all the time.

Keep up the good work!

I’ll be able to have workouts like that. Once I have genetically enhanced. And good on ya for gaining some muscle and losing some waist.

Joe, Punny, we all the man, and woman, in our own way.
Thanks all, decided to push this here liftin, throwing, muscling up, whatever thing and see just how far I can make it up the mountain fore I start comin down the other side. Of note. I’ve had lots of injuries but have never had a injury from lifting, working out, swimming, jumping, climbing, playing scrabble, etc. Currently, I feel great, lack flexibility in some areas. Having to push it harder to get my fix of DOMS so we’ll see how the body holds ups.

Today, (oh yeah, Sept f…ing 21, 98 degrees yesterday and today. I’m sorry for doubting you Al. How was the massage btw?)

24oz whey drink for breakfast (and lots of coffee)

Lunch on the route
Stir fry of 1 lb sliced beef, green onions, broccoli, green beans. Covered in hot sauce and served ice cold. Have to keep it in the ice chest. 24 oz ice coffee. Making these dishes up 2 at a time and alternating with chicken.

At the gym, in the owner’s office (you southerns please forgive me) 1 cup instant grits, microwaved, pure carbs, 1 cup coffee.

Finally got round to lifting something

Won’t list the food and drink anymore after today. Point is I’m making an effort to eat semi-right.

Do I dare ask what you’re having genetically enhanced?

I was gonna say that if you want to list your food you might want to head over to the women’s section. They love that shit. I was always the outcast where that was concerned because I was usually eating a big bowl of ice cream while I was reading their posts.

I read this line, and I pictured a mouse (but big) kicking an elephant in the foot to rile (try, that is) him up. I laughed.

You have a snappy sense of humour there. I like it.

Now I have to go eat, because reading Harry’s post made me hungry.

Then I need a massage afterwards, to make me happy.

Harry, with the volume of work, and the goodness of food, you can’t help but get bigger. Great work!

Grits are grits slow cooking, quick, or microwave… I’m a purist, I prefer mine cooked in milk, heavy cream and 2 sticks of butter… But grits are grits, you dont need to be forgiven!

Damn good training AND eating!!

I don’t think it would be much of a contest between Harry and me.

Harry might surprise you. He’s one tough bastard.

That’s true. But I still doubt he could take me.

[quote]kpsnap wrote:

I don’t know, he has been practicing his running. I’ve found that if I run away uphill I can call it a victory (my last encounter with muggers I ran away up hill and they gave up chasing me).

I go off to work and yawl just run around my thread. That’s ok, I’m use to a big family.
Wilson, just something about microwaving food seems, wrong. Had to swim down and recover some stuff from a downed plane once. Afterwards had to be washed, scrubbed, powered, and gieger countered. Never felt comfortable around radiation since. The third eye I grew draws attention, too.
Punny guy, you just made me remember my old ant jokes. Use to have hundreds of them, e.g.
“What’s an ant crawlin up an elephant’s ass got? Ambition.” Ego’s when the ant says,“don’t worry, I’ll be gentle”.
Glad to see you poppin in Elaikases. You still competing? The vid of you doing that take down at your comp was outstanding. I may need some lessons if Jack keeps egging Ms Snap on and she starts starts feelin froggy. Truthfully though, ever since Rose Broussard showed me what you could do with girls I haven’t been real interested in fighting them.
MJ, practicing throwing the 28 and 42 and I found the natural tentency is to throw for an arc, say at around 40 degress like I’m us to doing in the shot and disc. Brought my elavation down to a near straight line throw and I really sped up and got it out there. More to come on that.
A general apology. Haven’t been getting around to many threads and I feel bad about that. Will try and catch up on all soon.

Amen.

I had to lay off the competition, my daughter with Tourette’s needs more time than I could spare if I kept it up. She will keep growing and be out of her teens before I know it. Though I admit, it killed my interest in strength training for a while.

I’ve recovered and can still lift, even if I don’t have the time for other things, so I’ve been back to lifting about a month and a half.

Just took me a while to get myself together.

Well, I’m off to make sure she goes to sleep after going to bed

Though, now that I’m not training, I can explain why the emphasis I had on a place with super heavy adductor and abductor machines (to which I added 40 lbs).

I was training hip check o soto gari using the thigh lever rather than the hip, from a “no gi” grip (e.g. instead of starting with a grip, I would parry the other guy’s right arm with my left and drive my right arm past his ear, basically getting a head and arm grip on him rather than gripping his gi – works well in karate, and I would execute the reap by checking him with my thigh, then rotate to take down with a follow-through strike – that is a three point technique).

Since I was competing weighing about 179, the weights I was training with were basically the amount I needed to send someone any where near my weight class into the air with a straight lift.

Anyway, now I’m back to just training so I can carry 50lb bags of flour into the house for my wife

A noble quest, to be sure. I have been jonesing for judo so bad I went to the libraray and got some books on nage no kata and randori no kata just so I can look at pitchers of throws.

Harry, as always, I await your throwing wisdom. I have been going for the arc, and that just means it hits the close ground harder, but not farther.
