Joe, I notice you raised the safety supports for the last 305. If you had dropped until you touched then the 305 would likely have been legal.

If you have the supports set at that height for the 330 then you can keep sitting back until you lightly touch (for confidence and to judge depth) then hammer out of the hole.

edit: looked at it again…that 305 was pretty damn close
Do you do that? put the safety bars at a point to touch them and practice depth?

Also Joe on me having better form that the young chickie, not that hard.
UP, actually I hate squatting to the safety bars for depth. I’m using box squats and that is working well. I only suggested the safeties since that seems to be what Joe has to work with.

And you have excellent squat form.

Sorry Joe, didn’t mean to be all over your thread.

For a second I thought that something besides sponge and did a double take.

I can’t think of anything that looks like or rhymes with “sponge”. It must be something really twisted. You sick bastard.

Joe,

After watching the 245 I thought the 255 would be a piece of cake for you, did the spotter actually grab it on the pause? Nice work though, you are getting consistently stronger and that is never a bad thing.
As far as your squat depth on that last 305 I bet it looks different in a singlet, from the back it looked right on the cusp, I guess going 1 more inch is the key, nice work though, good luck with the meet.

Looking strong Joe. When’s the next meet? I’m sure it’s in here somewhere but I’m old and lazy.

Thanks

Despite the warnign the guy wouldn’t take his hand off the bar and it distracted me. I’ve widened my grip so I’m also getting used to that.

Its a week from tommorrow.

Then I’ve got a good five months until the next one to try and suck less.

Awesome goal. I might have to use that phraseology . . .

Deads

5x135
5x185
5x225
3x275
1x315
1x355
1x385
1x405
1x315
1x315
1x315
1x275
1x275
1x275
1x225
1x225
1x225

The 405 was shaky, not sure it would have been white lighted, really slow, and my calf cramped about half way through. Still I got it up.

1x355

1x385

1x405

Sorry about length I forgot the camera was on.

Joe, you’re gonna do great. Have a good time and forget all of the fucktardery from your gym. Just being in that environment has to get your blood flowing.

I’m not a judge. So I have no idea if it would have flown. But great job sticking with it and finishing the rep!

Progress is progress brother. Numbers are getting bigger.

But, the camera was on for over 2 minutes and not a single co-ed sauntered into view. Disappointing.

You got 405! That has got to be at least your max lift at the meet, if not 415… because you perform so well for an audience :stuck_out_tongue:

Digging this Joe, you’re so close in the gym you’ll get 330 and 405 in the meet.

you folks talk weird in dem parts of the world
just teasin!

way to fight Joe. what’s your pre-meet plan?

Went into SAMA and now I have a question.

Why is it that all the +35 guys who post in here rock.

But the over +35 guys who only post in SAMA are a bunch of ass grinding shit monkeys?

Is it just the SAMA part?
Most of T-Nation is degenerate cesspool of fecal matter. This here, is the only safe place. Why you clowns keep leaving the safety of the compound continues to flummox me.

Joe, that last squat at 305 was really, really close. It is yours.

Funny like a clown?

You’re on to something on the SAMA. And just on a side note, NL has a great ass.
