With spotters like you’ve had in the past, no spotter is almost a better option.
Egads. A seizure? I had one once. Scary. Never a dull moment in this log!

lol more spotter fuckery, man I would bench in a cage screw the spotter, IMO its whats holding you back when you miss your lift.
You’d think people would be bright in a University gym. How difficult is “don’t touch the bar until it’s stuck on my chest”?
Christ.
Spotting, when you know nothing, is stressful. You almost need to take a course.
I was once asked by a big-ass Irishman to spot him on a 365 bench. It scared the crap out of me because if he actually failed there was no way I could manhandle it back onto the pins.
Awesome lifts. Your attitude inspires me.

thats why I lift without collars if I need to I can just dump the weight and lift the bar back up…
Interesting take – no collars. I always lift without collars – but only because I’m lazy and don’t want to put them on. I figure that if you don’t have good enough control of the weight, maybe you should not be lifting it.
That said, my gym is only about a year old – and the bars/weights are still in good enough shape that the weights fit so tight on the bar – that they’d never slide off if I wanted to go that route.

The 320 is the most I’ve ever had on my back and tried to squat it. Didn’t hit the depth I wanted so I’m not calling it a PR but its a start.

not exactly sure what your point is, what I am saying is that I dont let the fact that I dont have a spotter keep me from lifting the weight I want. If I am strainging and I cant get the weight I lower it back to my chest and then dump the weight on the floor… I do however always lift with a spotter
Joe- Nice squat work brother…you’ll be hitting depth on the 320 soon.

I went into the gym a day early to spot Ronda on squats. SInce I was there I did my Day 1 lifts minus the curls so tomorrow I will have a bicep day. I’ll see if I can find an affliction tee shirt to complete the effect.
Hey I have extra, Ill send them to you, extra smedium for effect!
