2011 SPF Worlds Training Log

frenchie’s up-skirt shot - mon dieu! is right

attempts look good - so far i’ve programmed my seconds to be equal to or greater than my previous last successful lift (keep in mind that is all of 3 meets)

I open Joe’s log to be greeted by Frenchie’s ass. What’s the world coming to?

Didn’t even read your training, Joe.

But how close is your meet?
Well in all fairness Frenchie’s ass is way better than my traiing.

The meet is on 18th.
I had to re-read the training.
Joe I like your plan for your lifts.

Squats

5x135
3x185
1x225
1x245*wraps
1x280
1x295
1x310
5x225

Everything was high but I think I’m starting to figure these wraps out thanks to Frenchie and Snapper.

1x245

1x280

1x295

1x310

Nice work Joe

I would not be too worried about depth- cause you are learning your wraps

Joe gets all the stimulating pictures…

you need to push against the wraps on your way down - that’s how you get the bounce on your way up.

Can you be more specific? Do you mena I need to push my knees out more?

This is a great log.

BWA HA HA HA HA!

Maybe think of it as squatting threw the wraps, hard to put into words. But the wraps will get tighter (abviously) as you go down. Ya got to squat throught that point, let the weight take you down a bit.
Do you wrap tighter as the weight gets heavier? How do you wrap in general, start at top, bottom, mummy, etc.

Paused Bench

5x135
3x185
1x230
1x250
1x260*miss
1x225

V-bars

12x170
12x190
8x210

BB Shrugs

12x135
12x225
12x315

HS Iso Lat Row

8x 1pps
8x 2pps
8x 3pps
8x 4pps

Standing EZ Curls

15x70

260 felt really heavy and stalled about 4-5 inches off the chest. Need to hit 260 before the meet.

push to drop lower in the hole. kinda hard to explain. If you can go lower for a couple of exra inches, you’ll feel the resistance from the wraps and those will give you your bounce coming back up… This bounce is the reason why the RAW devision of PL doesn’t allow knee wraps in my fed.

I guess we’re competing on the same day Joe. Maybe it’s the date but I have yet to get my head out of my ass too.

I wish I could give decent advice about knee wraps but I hate 'em so I tend to train without them and go suit bottoms before wraps. I don’t the the wraps are your depth issue. I think it’s because it’s a heavier weight and you’re just cutting it high to ensure you come up. I do the same thing. When you’re at the meet, don’t do that  You’ll have spotters. Put it deep. If it doesn’t come up, they’ve got you.

Nice work Joe, you should have no problem getting the numbers you want by then. Best of luck.

Got it, I’m just going to have to suck it up and get brave.

Deads

5x135
3x185
1x225
1x275
1x315
1x335
1x365
0x395
1x365
1x315
1x275
1x225
1x225
1x225
1x225
1x225

The 395 barely broke off the floor and everything felt heavier than it should. Not enough food might have been the culprit.

I should also note that today there were 4 T NATIONers lifting at my gym.
