June 17, 18, and 19.

I’ll be lifting on the 18th.

Nice pullin Joe, I think you definitely had a triple in you, form looked great and went up real smooth.

Maybe, I need to get 395 up sumo and then start thinking about meeting lifts.

60 Day challenge

51 chins
51 reverse lunges
51 pushups

That pull looked really good to me. You’ve made a ton of progress!

he Joe have you thought about doing 3 singles with the 365 instead of going for a pr every week. then adding 5 lbs to that the next week and so on and so forth…you would get more work in at the upper ranges and in 8 weeks you would be pulling that 395 for 3 singles easily… Just a thought…

WTG on the 60 day challenge. Looks like you’ll be the only guy on here to complete it.

I know you’re splitting it into sets, but are you doing the sets one after another or spreading them out through the day?

Nice work on the deads, your form is definitely improving.

Thats an interesting idea and I think I might give it a shot. I also thought about going back and pulling 385 for a couple of week to get it smoother.

Thanks, I still need tons more progress but I’ll get it there.

Sort of both, I’ll do a set and then go do something either in the office and around the house. a few minutes later I’ll come back and do another set and repeat. When this is done I’ve sort of got an idea about having bigger rest periods and do a lot more reps and part of a everyday sort of thing.

As usual I’m a day late and 5 dollars short. That was a great pull Joe. It went up with very little effort.

That was another thought I had as I just read your log from the last month or two all at once it seems that you make notes as to how well you performed your max effort lifts and the comments you make say things like to high or my back rounded or something to that effect but you seem to come in the next week and add weight to the bar anyway. I have read because I dont have much expereince that if you dont perform the exercise correctly you shouldnt move past it. I am tring to remeber this in my own training and with the guy I am helping to train. if he does not do the rep with good form or finish his set with good form he does not move up in weight until he can.

Again just my thoughts I certainly dont have a ton of expereince to go off of.

Strong pull Joe. The cheers at the meet will add a few pounds to your pull. I’m guessing you’ll pull at least 405.

I thought maybe it was just me but my pulling at my last meet was stronger than at the gym and I went above what I had planned to do. Is this something you experience as well?

Joe i think Damutt makes a great point! So many people test their strength on a weekly basis as opposed to building there strength and testing it out meet day IMO.

Edit: deads are a nice combination of technique and aggression, meet day pulls are usually better as the competitive juices really get flowing.

Bench

3x180
3x205
3x230
1x250
0x260* all sorts of spotter fuckery.
2x230
3x205
3x180

5x10x155

Face Pulls

12x65
12x72.5
12x89

DB Rows

16x85
15x95
14x100

Spotter for the 260 lift wouldn’t take his hands off the bar and WAY more importantly wouldn’t stop drip sweat on to my FACE! Needless to say I missed the lift.

0x260* all sorts of spotter fuckery.

Man I get irritated by the people in my gym. No one racks their weights when done. They leave weights, dumbbells, barbells all over the place. I can’t figure out where everyone buys their shirts – serious shortage of sleeves at my gym (I wonder what they do with all those cut-off sleeves?). Enough with the curls, please. Curls in the squat rack, curls in front of the dumbell rack, barbell curls on the bench press, supersets of dumbbell curls and shoulder shrugs (using the damn squat rack for shrugs). Argh, I’m getting irritated just thinking about it.

Well, at least you didn’t get hurt.

Well, that was sort of a random rant, fatlnlC.

“Spotter fuckery.” Very nice imagery. All the more testament to your excellent way with words.
