2010 Arnold Classic Preview/Predictions

There are 13 guys invited to the Arnold this year. The front runners are

Kai
Branch
and Heath

My guess at the top 5

Heath
Kai
Branch
Rockel
Dexter

What does everyone think?

Man when you look at Jonnie Jackson compared to the others he doesnt measure up even remotely.

It’ll be a rarity if Tony gets dry and sharp so you probably can rule him out of top 3.

I think Kai Greene because he lost in the Olympia will be good and probably win because I can’t see Branch winning and Heath and Jackson aren’t consistent. If last years Olympia taught us anything its that picking a BB contest winner before you see the competitors on the day is like picking the no.3 horse.

Which jackson are you talking about that isn’t consistent? Johnnie Jackson isn’t even a factor in this contest.

And I’m well aware theres no way to know whos going to win. It’s alright to be wrong. There’s no penalty.

Kai 2009 Arnold

Heath 09 Olympia (with the flu)

Branch 09 Olympia

I see it being potentially close between Kai and Heath.

Kai
Heath
Branch
Dexter
Melvin (maybe Toney)

Rockel will be overlooked as always.

Kai could be hit or miss because he’s working on bringing that bigger package to the stage, if he’s full and dry at 260-270lbs he wins, game over.

that said anything could happen. i love branch in the gym, just not on stage, dexter if others are off, Phil if Kai misses and Dex isn’t perfect.

Branch might be perfect conditioning wise but he’s just not very pretty from the waist up.

IDEAL: Kai #1, Dex #2, Phil #3, Branch #4 and order is restored to the BB world.

Victor isn’t in this?

I was actually thinking the same thing. Apparently Vic is old news now that Kai and Phil have the spotlight.

I assumed Victor would have been invited to the show but when I checked out the lineup he wasn’t on the list. Maybe he decided not to do the show so he can have the best possible chance to succeed at the O?

Yeah, Vic opted to skip this show in order to put in a longer off season for the O.

purposefully sitting out until the O, a year to bring up his legs and work on business shit i suppose.

I’ve heard people mention that taking the year off can hurt more than help. I swear someone blamed part of Wolf’s O disaster on that. (I could be wrong.)

I root for Phil just for the posing faces alone.

I read that Victor’s trainer only agreed to work with him as long as he skips the Arnold and focuses on the O.

That said,… I can see cases made for Branch, Kai and Heath. Branch was just a beast at the Olympia, so you could definitely see him take it. Kai won last year, but even though Branch beat him at the O, Kai said he went for a tighter package and it cost him,… so will he not only come in bigger, but will Branch not bring the necessary improvements to beat an improved Kai?.

Heath has all the tools to win, but as was noted, was sick as a dog during the '09 Olympia (and still did respectably well)… I’m not sure. Personally I like all 3 guys and as long as they truly deserve the win, wouldn’t complain about any of these guys taking it.

S

  1. Heath
  2. Kai
  3. Branch
  4. Dexter
  5. Rockel

He is not.

Jay hasn’t done the Arnold in a few years, which is normal for the O winner.

I’m surprised Wolf isn’t biting the bullet and finally doing the Arnold. He’s taken the past few years off just to compete in the O and it hasn’t done him any good in the rankings.

Also, I’d be surprised if Rockel made the top 5. Like elusive said, he’ll be overlooked with all of the big name star power in the competition.

It’s not going to happen considering he’s basically dwarfed by Kai, Branch and others, but I’d like to see Johnnie Jackson do well. I’ve always liked his look.
