I get the impression sometimes players prefer to look pretty and swat the ball out of bounds rather than go up with 2 hands and bring the ball down and have control.
Not in EVERY block opportunity obviously but several.
That was an awesome block. As far as swatting vs. grabbing the ball goes, grabbing the ball on a block is a very, very hard thing to do. That’s why you never see it. I would 100% agree with you on the same concept applied to rebounds though.

Fuck the Wizards, seriously. I pay for lower level seats for the Clippers game in DC and it’s over by halftime even with Eric Gordon injured.
They play IN LA, WITH Eric Gordon and it’s double overtime.
Dude, it’s time to stop going to Wizards games.
Vote with your wallet man.
Haha, I went to Thunder-Wizards and it was barely worth the $8 ticket.
I went to two games in 3 days, and in the FIRST HALF they gave up 64 to LAC (without Gordon) and 68 to OKC. Lost by an average of 25pts.

haha ok.
You can sit in the nosebleeds here for 12.50 + a bunch of charges, but to sit somewhere OK here it’s $50 minimum.

It really depends on the play. IMO I think players do not even think about bringing down a blocked ball into their control.

If they did it would happen a lot more often.

It’s really a tough play 99% of the time unless you’re playing scrubs on the playground. Especially the way you described as “go up with 2 hands and bring the ball down and have control”. If it were that easy, they’d be doing it more often.

I wonder how much Kemba Walker’s draft stock is rising based on his recent run(Big East and NCAA tournies), kid has been tearing up everyone he plays(SDSU supposed to have the best on ball defenders in the nation and he torched them hard). Derrick Williams for Arizona has looked amazing too. Not sure who I want the Cavs to take with our #1 when we get it…

The Lakers barely won the title last year. This team is more than beatable, they’re bordering overrated with all the hype they get for their “unstoppable front court.” News flash, the Lakers have had a progressively harder time winning each title recently. And it’s no coincidence, as Kobe ages the Lakers become less effective.
And fuck no, the Lakers are not getting the number one seed in the West.
What does the number one seed in the west mean in the playoffs? It doesn’t equal title. It sounds like you’ve convinced yourself the Lakers are no real threat for the title this year. He he he…

Dwight Howard is the worst offender in this arena.

Walker can play, but he’s like a smaller, less athletic Ben Gordon. He’s gonna have some difficulty at the next level. Also, the refs stole the wind out of SDSU with that absolutely ridiculous tech they gave the kid after Walker feigned a heart attack when they brushed shoulders. The officiating this whole post season has been comically bad. Williams does look good, and he has a much better handle than I thought. I wouldn’t take him #1 though. Honestly for the prospects available, I’d take Harrison Barnes [if he comes out]. I see him eventually being a taller Paul Pierce. He might not be a superstar, but he has 20/5/5 potential in a couple of years. Don’t think he’s ready to come in though.
Lakers-Bulls Finals if you ask me. The Lakers are heating up at the right time and I can see them beating pretty much any team in the West including the Spurs. The team that I think could give them a big challenge more than any one else is OKC, and they might not get to face LA if the SAS eliminates them.
I’d go ahead and say the Lakers are taking it, but I don’t know how good the Bulls really are. They’re not as battle-tested but they don’t seem like the kind of team that gives up. Originally, I had the Celts as the East favourites, but they’ve played pretty bad lately. And while that was the case last year, they’ve lost some key players that helped them majorly with the intangibles [especially Perkins] and replaced them with injury prone and/or old guys.
I look foreword to a Chicago-OKC rivalry in the next few years after the Lakers, Spurs, and Celts age out of contending. Rose vs. Durant. EDIT: I suppose Miami and NY could find it’s way into this conversation, but I don’t know if they’ll have the money or even opportunities to fix their imbalances after the new CBA. NY has a better shot of achieving this IMO.

I’ve read Miami might be able to sign a legit role player or two this offseason (depending on new CBA of course).
I think with Perkins, OKC is LA’s biggest roadblock in the West. Ibaka/Perk is a LEGIT frontcourt defensive combo and can match up with Gasol/Bynum. That being said, the Lakers will go wherever Bynum takes them. If he can stay healthy the rest of the season and 4 consecutive playoff series (no small task for him), they’ll be in the Finals with a shot to win.
As much as I like the Bulls (and the Thibodeau coach of the year bet I made with 60:1 odds… can you say VEGAS after COY is announced?), you’re right that we don’t know how they’ll act as a team yet in the face of adversity. The road to the East still goes through BOS, though homecourt advantage helps a ton.
One thing I see from the Bulls: They really, REALLY want it.
