Man, we really filled the last one to it’s max capacity. Take that NHL thread!!!
Aww damn, I made a pt. 2 as well, but it hasn’t showed up yet, hopefully the mods blocked it
Andrew, I agree with you fully. It looked the Celtics realized the Lakers are the better team yesterday and it took the wind out of their sails.
The lakers beat that ass! One more game like this… hell, one more half like they played yesterday and the C’s will fold up shop, go back to boston and lick their wounds. LA CLEARLY looked like the better team yesterday. Celtics look flustered.
I also thought the Staples Center seemed a lot more rowdy than normal. Usually its a pretty quite place with all the celebs and “look at me’s” there to be in the cool spot but it was so loud that it made me comment to my girlfriend last night while watching the game. The place was electric and you usually dont see that at the Staples Center… at least not from start to finish.

There were some weak calls made against both teams yesterday. Although the fact that early on they were mostly against the Celtics must have played into the Celtics not playing as rough as they normally did. Perkins was probably the best behaved player on the court, as far as arguing with the refs goes, pretty refreshing.
Hopefully the Lakers fuck the Celtics up.

Agree on the weak calls early, disagree on that influencing the Celts play. It looked like the Celts realized pretty early that they’re not gonna be able to bully these Lakers like they did the '08 bunch, and that deflated their hearts. I really can’t put my finger on it, but it seemed that they were trying to not get blown out more than they were trying to win. I expect the Lakers to win game 2, but I also expect the C’s to step up their intensity big time. If they don’t this won’t go past 5 games.
lol wtf are you talking about this was a simple game 1 victory by the lakers AT HOME. Can re-iterate that enough, the Lakers are the best home court team in the league in the playoffs. And add to that it was game 1.
if the celts win game 2 this series is OVA.

Watching game one now, anyone notice this?[/quote]
Is Allen gettin into it with the actor from king of queens in that shot??? LMAO
From what I hear that guy trains pretty extensively in MMA, so don’t let the pudge fool you, I’m sure he could take down almost anybody on the court.

You just keep on saying dumb shit and we’ll just keep on watching the Lakers walk their way to ANOTHER title.
If celts win game 2… then they will win game 3 for sure… but I am really concerned about k.g. He is playing very hurt and can’t even make a layup. The last time the celts were dominated like this was in game 3 vs the cavs at home(losing by 30) and after that, They wound up winning 6 playoff games in a row. Hopefully the same thing can happen, but they can’t drop game 2. CEltics have way too much pride to lose the next game.

All the pride in the world can’t negate being overmatched. Lakers are winning this thing.

You do say some stupid ass shit. If Celts win game 2 this series is over??? Umm…okay. I know it’s only one game but sometimes one game does tell you a lot. I remember in 2004 even though the Lakers won that on a last second shot that I had a feeling in my gut based on the way the Pistons played the Lakers that we were going to lose that series based on that 1 game.
It’s not just that’s its one game. And it’s not like the Cavs game where they took it to the Celtics. The Celtics also didn’t show up in that game at all which they’ve been prone to do.
In this game, I’m not buying that they didn’t show up. It was more than that. The Lakers man-handled them in every aspect of the game. Even with a tougher game 2 by the Celtics, the Lakers have shown they have as much or more toughness.
Even J. A. Adande, who I couldn’t believe originally picked the Celtics in six completely reversed his position now based on that 1 game alone.
I think you are just spitting some stupid shit out there to try to convince yourself of some alternate reality that’ll never happen.
I bet if the Celtics win game 2 Adande flops again.

this was not a “simple game 1 victory”… the lakers completely shut down the Celtics. The final score would have been even worse if Pierce didnt get a bunch of free throws in garbage time. The Lakers dominated every stat of the game and owned the glass.
That game was FAR from a “simple game 1 victory” except for the fact that the Lakers made winning look simple.
Also why would the series be over if the Celtics win game 2? You do know that the Celtics have a worse home record than they do on the road right? A home game for Boston is more likely a loss than an away game so your statement makes absolutely no sense.

Cool interview with Steve Nash.
I was wondering your guys thoughts on these topics that were brought up.
Mid season tourney?
Champions league?
Teams playing for most lottery balls?
Shorter season 70 games?
I say it because I believe it!
Think about it, a statement like that is gold for me long-term. If the Lakers win game 2 and they win the series then that statement goes in my favour. If the Lakers win game 2 and lose the series ill be good anyway. Now on the Celts side if they win game 2 and win the series then I can revisit that statement and push it in your purp n gold faces. This leaves the celts winning game 2 and losing the series scenario. The explanation here is that the Celts chances of winning the series if they win game 2 vastly improves than if they lose it, considering the 3 games in boston. Some like Greg will say the Celts aren’t too good at home but its not about them, its about the Lakers NOT playing at home where every time I watch them they protect their turf like no other.

lol yeah because it makes sense in general. But at this point im running out of things to say.
you had a lot of people laughing when you called kobe the greatest laker ever. if you watched game 1 you heard chris rock say magic was the most exciting player hes ever seen and mike wilbon ad jon barry were saying “woah hold up” when magic proclaimed that kobe would be the greatest laker if he won the title this year. magic is a standup humble guy so ofcourse he’d say that but almost every analyst out there will tell you kobe is not at that level.
