What a great game! Kobe really did work in OT’s number 2 and 3, Ron Ron hit the game winner… What an exciting fun game. Artests post game interview was hilarious.
^^^damn
I only got to see Kobe hit that last shot when the Suns should’ve fouled and then Gortat fuck that last play in the asshole by holding onto the ball for the rest of the game clock.
When you mentioned the big game, I was really hoping to see VC have a huge game - damn he was turrible
But on the flipside the Raps play the Sun tomorrow. They NEVER beat the Suns. Maybe just maybe they’ll win with Phoenix being fatigued

Ron Ron came up big. He had a big three at the end of the first OT. A steal and a sweet dunk in traffic (kinda in traffic) and then he hit that awkward looking sideways shot in triple OT to give the lakers the lead.
Great game (if your a Lake Show fan)
^^^ That was nice.
I get the impression sometimes players prefer to look pretty and swat the ball out of bounds rather than go up with 2 hands and bring the ball down and have control.
Not in EVERY block opportunity obviously but several.
gregron you’re trolling this guy in the BB forum pretty good.
LMAO
That was an awesome game that I unfortunately missed the second half due to business travel. The Lakers are again showing their dominance late in the season.
Here is a nice article calling out everyone who were writing the Lakers off in December when they were struggling.
Here is what caught my eye the most, it’s not just the size and length of the Lakers but their front-line is also supremely talented.
"Andrew Bynum is the defensive anchor â?? the Lakers have him playing back and work at funneling penetration to him, forcing a pass or a shot over his long wingspan. He also can be a beast on the offensive glass and has a respectable jump hook. For scoring they have Pau Gasol, the most fundamentally sound big man in the game â?? he has the best footwork of any big in the Association, can score effectively with either hand and is probably the best passer out of the high post in the league. Then there is Lamar Odom, the likely NBA Sixth Man of the Year who is having a career season. Heâ??s the tallest point forward in the league who can score in the post or lead the break off the dribble.
Or look at it this way: Odom has a PER of 20, Bynum 21.6 and Gasol 23.4. (For the uninitiated, PER is a measure of basketball impact and efficiency.)
Lakers blog Forum Blue & Gold (my old stomping grounds) and Neil Paine from Basketball-Reference teamed up recently to see if any team ever had three big men with PERâ??s as high as the Lakers did.
Nope.
Not since the NBA/ABA merger in the mid 1970s. No team has had three forwards/centers with PERs that high. No team has had three big men having seasons like this, three big men who can change the game on the offensive end with their skills.
Bigger is better. It is impossible for other teams to match up with. And that is the reason that for all the drama in December, taking the Larry Oâ??Brien trophy away from the Lakers is going to be monumentally difficult."

This could literally have been written at any point in the last 12 yrs.

You are using PER that is music to my ears!
The big question is how well does Artest defend Durant? Aren’t you just a little bit scared of OKC with Perkins and Ibaka starting? I would be.
And we already know Westbrook can terrorize Fisher. God I hope that series happens, no way it goes less than 7 games.

I get your point but he was great in Toronto.
This is as far as his career has gotten:

The Lakers probably wont even face OKC in the playoffs ![]()

Hey I never said stats were useless in basketball, far from it. It’s just that stats do not tell the whole story particularly in basketball. PER is imperfect but still useful.
Am I concerned to face OKC in the playoffs? No. Do I think OKC is the biggest competition to the Lakers in the west? Yes. I know what this Lakers team is capable of and if anyone’s seen the last dozen or so games they would conclude that the rest of the league (and their fans) should be concerned about the Lakers, not the other way around.
This team is completely dominant when clicking on all cylinders.
The Spurs and Nuggets game just now was another nail bitter! The Nuggs are on a roll lately. Lakers can still take the top spot… only 6 games back
The Lakers barely won the title last year. This team is more than beatable, they’re bordering overrated with all the hype they get for their “unstoppable front court.” News flash, the Lakers have had a progressively harder time winning each title recently. And it’s no coincidence, as Kobe ages the Lakers become less effective.
And fuck no, the Lakers are not getting the number one seed in the West.

Fuck the Wizards, seriously. I pay for lower level seats for the Clippers game in DC and it’s over by halftime even with Eric Gordon injured.
They play IN LA, WITH Eric Gordon and it’s double overtime.

Dude, it’s time to stop going to Wizards games.
Vote with your wallet man.
