The key to TRT is not to overcomplicate it or go into a protocol with expectations that it’s not going to work. Pick something, give it 8-12 weeks and assess. Most guys have problems because they complicate the shit out of EVERYTHING (I’ve been guilty of this myself). A majority of people on TRT take it once a week, feel great and don’t need to go to a forum. The minority have issues and need to try different methods to get where they need to be.
SHBG is just one of a thousand things and there isn’t much anyone can do to change SHBG. Putting too much weight on any one thing isn’t wise and likely won’t lead to the desired outcome. Regardless of SHBG levels the play book is the same. Adjust dosage (and/or frequency) until you don’t feel like shit.
High shbg with tanked free and bio available T isn’t adequate hormonal parameters
A guy with a TT of 1500 and FT right at the top of normality with an shbg of 60 doesn’t need trt unless he has like PAIS or something
The shbg needs to be at a number is also BS, if TT is high enough regardless of SHBG FT will increase. SHBG also tends to fluctuate wildly based on a myriad of other factors, so basing a protocal on it is ludicrous
For me personally, 400mg/7days works good since its three ester brew. I would just be an animal, its problem when youre stuck in a cmp full of guys for 14 days… a real life 3 turns into a hard camp 8 about a week into work.
I was just mentioning what gave me the craziest libido. 200/week is great but no where near the hell hound I became lol… will be becoming I guess again soon enough.
Last time you tested prolactin you’ve had a decent amount which ive seen give many guys trouble
You also have a decent amount of SHBG which ive seen guys wanna get down to at least 28-30 before they feel better.
Different thoughts and norms that i thought were associated with successful hormone balance have been thrown out the mothafuckin’ window with you my dude.
I’ve never seen this. Not saying you’re wrong just personally haven’t seen that. You see guys here with 70 and way higher looking to lower theirs to try and get free T higher from time to time. I’ve heard quite a few docs on TOT Revolution roundtable podcast say they’d much rather have a patient with high SHBG than low SHBG.
I learn so much and have so many paradigms change within my mind when i come here.
The testosterone subreddits and here are 2 different worlds and the advice here makes so much more sense and puts me at ease a bit.
My SHBG came back at 41 in June and i was worried since both my total and free t were above range. Thats kinda why i tried the less frequent dosing in the first place.
You guys always remind me that dialing in may not be a simple process, but its much easier than we make it out to be sometimes.
One thing Im noticing is that a lot of folks want to feel like theyre always 100% and perfect. Im gonna keep it simple, were human and things change all of the time. Im no hypochondriac, and dont plan on turning myself into one just cuz Im adding TRT. I like the fact that some guys in here are going by how they feel in a big picture kind of way. Sometimes its the burrito you ate at lunch or the supplements you throwing in and not your hormones.
Excellent point. Life happens. Some days are just better, or worse, than others, and for many reasons that have nothing to do with your levels not being smooth or estrogen “spiking” 3ng.
26 mg daily IM totaling 182 mg weekly puts me at TT 1282 ng/dl and FT 43 ng/dl with SHBG at 27. Tempted to push to 200 mg weekly. Overall I feel really good so might just ride it out with 182 mg weekly. Just sharing.
