2008 USAPL Raw Nationals Results

Here is a link to the 2008 USAPL Raw Nationals Results if you are interested. It was large meet with a lot of lifters. I am pasting in the top lifter’s numbers (in lbs) just to save you some effort if you just want to see the winners, I can’t swear it is error free. Meet next year is in Charlottesville, VA.

I don’t know what you are using as a point of reference in making that commment but one thing we learned this weekend as we spoke to others is that there were a lot of lifters there, who are ranked on the RAW plwatch.com list and we were keeping an eye on who achieved their totals with knee wraps, 24 hour weigh-ins with a couple lifters commenting they showed up on meet day easily 10-15#'s higher than their weight class and were stunned by the difference 2 hour weigh-ins made, different lifting standards, etc., etc.

Some lifters we thought were going to be a big factor simply weren’t. Not to mention the heat sapped a lot of the big guys.

This really skewed a lot of people’s qualifying totals relative to what they were able to achieve this weekend.

I think there was some impressive lifting, in particular in the middle weights and the meet was excellent.

I think he just means that those aren’t necessarily the top lifts in each weight class at the meet. Rather, they are the lifts posted by the winner in each class.

Maybe I’m wrong.

Thanks Tim for posting these.

What I meant was that list didn’t represent the best lifts in each weight class, it was the 3 lifts of the winning person’s total, if that makes sense. There was nothing derogatory in there. I was simply taking the person whom came in first place and then listing their numbers in the big three, not taking the best squat, the best bench, and the best deadlift and listing those numbers. I hope that makes sense.

It’s also interesting that the 165 winner benched more than he squatted. Good bench and DL though.

And 275 greater than SHW. And several 181 sub juniors better than the 181 junior. Actually there was only one 181 junior.
