8-6-11 dead day

wellllll. it went real bad, tried some conventional pulling up to 575 and then started to get real sore in my legs and whatever. not anything worth mentioning. went to bed at 4, up at 930 and had prs in squat and bench this week so can’t complain to much. realized today that i’m gonna alternate heavy deads every other week now with some light speed work.

bouncing went well. got to sit down and people watch and have a beer lol. i worked the door and it was pretty uneventful. didn’t have to kick anyone out.

Hey don’t worry about the woman, it’ll feel better eventually. 2 out of 3 for PR’s is good enough ya know?

775x1 added reverse bands and ace suit, straps down
865x1 light straps up
1005x almost but not quite there, tighter straps(shouldn’t have tightened straps)

so i have vid of the 865 and 1005, i’ll post later, i shouldn’t have messed with the straps, i don’t think i like them tighter. i couldn’t get my breath so i had to change my setup as you’ll notice from the vid. i’m def not quite there yet but i’m glad to finally get that weight on my back! i feel pretty good, my back is fucking fried though. the rest of my stuff this week will be all light DE deload type stuff, but since i had some time off and felt good, and we had a hella squat crew for today, i decided to do some fun stuff. thanks again to all the spotters!

sturgis was awesome, it’s the first time i’ve been out there without my parents so that was nice, i was able to go my own pace and do whatever i wanted, plus i didn’t have to worry about any other bikes in our group. the weather was awesome, couldn’t have asked for better actually. i had a cousin that was supposed to go but last minute wasn’t able to soo instead of going by myself i asked a passenger to go kinda last minute but fortunately it worked out. i’ll post a couple pics.

You are a beast man 1005 on your back and “almost” Damn man awesome stuff. I know i havent spoken to you in a little bit but was always following your log. Awesome stuff man, congrats. Btw been hitting some good ole Squat and Deadlift PR’s if i do say so myself

well noboby has, because i actually write down what i use and when i use it in my log. but i have a metal ace suit.

1005 reverse band. i couldn’t get my breath under the bar cuz the straps were tighter so i had to lean forward and change my routine/setup. i’ll change that next time.

that’s all. went and got arby’s for dinner. time to shower then go work at the bar tonight. my elbows were really starting to get sore from the straight bar on wed, so that’s why i ended up not doing any band work.

did one abz wheel on my toes just to try it.

deads felt really good. pulling from the floor felt better than the block pulls actually. hip feels good, lets try to keep it that way lol.

8-22-11 squat day

did extra band assisted stretching to end on. squatting went well and was pretty easy except the 670 but i’ll get back to that. as for the box height, i can’t remember how it compares to what i normally use but it’s basically the same if i think. so i had to look back at my log to see what i did for my last 5 rep week cuz it’s been quite a while since i last did a 5 rep squat, turns out i overlooked the fact that last time on my reverse bands sets i used my metal briefs. so when i did my 670x5 tonight, turns out it was pretty hard hahaha. oh well, no harm no foul!

i hate having other people in the gym again, school just started today and i just had my first classes since fall of 2008 haha. turns out i forgot how much i dislike people lol. oh well, atleast i get to go back to my mon, wed and fri lifting schedule.

Yeah been back to 100% for a couple months, and when you say hip i take it you mean my groin? Well it’s been alright, had one instance where it was giving me some trouble but it cleared up real fast. I’m squatting to a box around or slightly below parallel and using that as a depth limiter because it seems when i go as deep as i can sometimes i do not have the flexibility or mobility and so my groin pays the price. Either way I am making PR’s doing 5 reps on squat to a box, just touch and go so its not exactly a box squat, and so far so good. (knock on wood) Also am working on the flexibilty and mobility 1-2x a day. Deadlifts are also improving after me being stuck for a while. I think speed deads really helped me. I also want to be around 165-170lbs come the end of december. Right now i’m around 150.

8-24-11 bench day

that’s it. i’ve been sick past couple of days, i thought today was gonna be ok, but i was pretty much dead after my 300x5, i just had no endurance and started to feel real bad real quick. not what i wanted but i’ll take. i also need to order more beta alanine lol. it’s nice to know that being sick i’m still hitting numbers that use to be pr’s.

8-26-11 deadlift day

so i’m feeling better but still sick, turns out there is something going around campus…and it’s the first week of class! anywhoo, did an improv dead day, just worked up to a high rep set of medium-low weight from the floor.

well i’m planning on doing a meet the weekend after that one over in dubuque, however we may try to split up our group into half doing that meet and half doing the dubuque meet, that way we can actually have people help each other out. you going raw or equipped for that meet?
