People tend to get stronger when they rest from the gym for a week or two, but I get the opposite effect. For whatever reason, whether a deload or other responsibilities getting in, whenever I take time off (short duration 7-10 days)I find out that my strength on big lifts go down significantly, especially the squat and the deadlift. Do you know why this may be the case? I’m 1B
Type 1A and 1B have the biggest performance drop when they take too many days off in a row. That’s because they need to train often to keep their dopamine system optimal. If they don’t train, it becomes lot harder to get the CNS in optimal performance zone when training.
