1965 vs. 2006

To me, my life is far from underwhelming. I can discuss what I know about the past due to having a grandmother that would tell me stories about it (and she was born in 1918).

It had seven incidences concerning a child’s behavior. The way a child behaves is connected with parenting.

I wonder if you have ever heard the term “sociology”.

Could’ve fooled me.

Second-hand information from an old woman. Yes, because grandmothres are always truthful about the past, and they’re never grandiose or nostalgic.

Title of thread:

1965 vs. 2006

Sorry if I brang comparisons of 1965 vs. 2006 into the conversation that you aren’t fond of. Maybe we can throw more shit in about how people were tougher then and you’ll start jerking yourself off about it again.

It’s nice when we’re condescending through statements that are irrelevant, ain’t it? Masculinity would fall under, amazingly, the heading of Men’s Studies. Sociology is the study of human and global social interaction. EV-psych is the study of modern ‘traits’ as adaptations.

I think I’ve heard of sociology, yes. Have you ever taken courses in it? Inbetween your time spent disciplining children correctly, saving masculinity, becoming a chiseled Greek god, fondly remembering a time you weren’t alive for and curing AIDs, of course.

Yes.

I probably could have.

1965 Peopple say what the fuck is the internet?

Amazing, isn’t it? People take the information highway for granted and don’t realize how lucky we are to be able to freely exchange ideas and information, not to mention music, film, academics, etc…Its crazy to think about.

and of course … free porn !

There is porn on the internet??

If you weren’t passed out, you were under the legal blood alcohol limit to drive, and if you did get pulled over, they MIGHT write you a ticket for innatentive driving.
The country was becoming embrolied in the vietnam war.
Cops could hit anybody they wanted to when making an arrest.
I bet that gas, beef and beer were cheaper back then, but there were probably fewer jobs.

On the positive side, getting laid was much, much easier.

Best.Post.

How many people would honestly want to wake up and find it to be 1965?[/quote]

Probably only the white males over 50.

No minority would.

Nostalgia is the most misguided, useless thing in the world. It is what the miserable use to convince themselves that they once were happy, and things were once better, and their sad state has to do with everything and everyone but themselves.

I think they had better haircuts then…
and bodybuilding was at it’s heyday.

and pseudo intellectuals would get kicked in the nuts , not worshiped.

and they didn’t make elementary school kids go on gay parades and do pro gay campaigns on kids TV’s

and… I think we have done a lot that is to the better , (leaving technology aside) but many other things to the worst

maybe the 80s were that good ol time.

Some pretty humorous writing…
