185lb Challenge

let me clarify…

I was being sarcastic about burning the flag…

I would never personally burn the American flag (or the flag of any other country for that matter)…

I would however stand up to a fascist like you who is eager to take away the right to protest against the government through terror and censorship…

one of the things that make America such a great country to live in, in my opinion, is that American citizens can protest against the American government without being jailed and having the key thrown away…

American citizens also have the right to protest without having to succumb to assault and battery by the likes of dimwits like yourself and your pals…

I may not like flag burnings, but you’ll have to get through me before I allow you to take away these citizens right to protest…

and finally…

you are a fucking dumbass!

I thought I made it clear that my question was of true curiosity. And I was not “hating”, I was giving my point of view.

the last sentence said it all “try cleaning 185kg and I will give you props” and it would appear i’m not the only person that saw the way i did. This being said I’m sticking with my original conclusion about your statement.

by the way I could only muster 5 reps with that weight i worked up to that weight starting with 145 (i weigh 177lbs by the way)it gives something to look forward to getting good at. my two best lifts are squats and deadlift. squats i can squat 495 for 3 reps on my last set (5 sets) and deadlift 400 for 6 reps on my last set (5)
I can squat 405 only once, deadlift 405 for 5 as well and bench 315 x 3. I guess I have strong shoulders. nice squat!

So, genius, tell me again how it would make your point stronger if she was raped or killed.

My earlier post… pay attention.
A have a client. Female, turning 54 in January. On a business trip to Philly, she was mugged (attempted). She was able to fight off her attacker and hang on to her pocketbook even while he dragged her with it across an entire street corner.

You can call THIS stupid as well but the point here is that “you never know” what might happen to you and when.
Hey, smaaatypants (from MA.)

Check out where I wrote exactly what my point was. See the second part that says “but the point here is…”?

It’s getting old being forced to explain what I very clearly wrote in an earlier post. It’s also getting old clarifying simple concepts only to be told I am backpeddling.

Aren’t YOU the one who tried convincing people that I meant “murder” when I said I’d use “any means necessary” in defense of the flag? When nobody in their right mind could make that leap. But I did say right mind.

If I had to curtail everything I write on the chance that some moron might twist my words to make his point… Oh, wait that already happens.

Clarify or backpeddal?

I say “backpeddal”!

I’m not suggesting as you so quickly ponted out (incorrectly I might add) that you do not have the right. I only wish to envoke MY right and that is to STOP the flag from being burned. Or do I not have the right to protest the protesters? (I will take my lumps if I have to).

Who the hell said anything about being jailed? Yikes!

I agree and I’ll let the courts handle the charges brought against me.

There! I KNEW you were a murderer! (Wasn’t it YOU who accused me of that in another post. Wow! What a leap you made!)
and finally…

Good comeback!

nah its not just strong shoulders but your core is pretty damn strong as well you probably squat more than you realize. currently my bench is sitting at 365 x2 i never really attempted to do my max lifts for the 1st or 2nd set after warm up so i’m not sure if my number would be better if i attempted my max lift for my first or second set.

Boys, boys, boys. If you guys took all the energy, time and testosterone you’ve wasted on this pointless fucking argument, you could have done a couple hardcore clean & press or squat workouts and been one step closer to my numbers. Stop arguing and hit the weights or I’m gonna burn the stars and stripes and kick your asses!!!LOL

Just don’t burn the Maple Leaf LOL!

Ummm, no. I was the one pointing out to YOU that YOU didn’t mean “any means necessary” when YOU said it. It was true then and remains so. But hey, we don’t need to go through that again.

Next time try to pick an example that actually illustrates your alleged point.

Lastly, I need to appologize to the original poster.

I helped turn this into something so far different than originally intended. I know I get caught up in arguments and it ends up ruining the whole point.

Lastly (REALLY). I made the mistake of not being clear in my first response. If I could start over, I’d have written that being able to Clean & Press 185 for 17 reps will REALLY toughen you up physically AND mentally.

Instead I used the term “ass-kicking ability” which was unfortunate. And pretty inaccurate.

But mostly because some here were somehow able to twist my opinion of Pound4Pound’s probable “ass-kicking ability” into “Hey, look at me! I’m the toughest guy who ever posted here at T-Nation! You better not f**k with ME! I will personally kick ALL your asses if I don’t kill you first! I’m Rambo dammit!”

Pretty far stretch but it happened and I was part of it. My bad. Sorry P4P.

Congratulations on your lifts, by the way. Nice numbers and I’m sure it took a lot of hard work to reach them.

But my point is, the moon is made of green cheese.

Again, where exactly did I talk about my “badass abilities”? Rambo? Man you really need to stretch to make a point huh?
Stop mixing posts…did you see the word imply in my above quote?? It’s amazing that you and I both went through the same MA school system.

You’re killing me here!

OK you win! I suppose by “any means necessary” COULD mean driving a golfcart up and down your back until you suffocated. I suppose it could mean ANYTHING if we use your brilliant thought processes. Let’s see what ELSE I may have meant… I DID say “any” right?

How about digging a tunnel underneath you and sawing out a circle around you so you fall through the floor? That would get you to stop burning the flag. So THAT is what I had to have meant when I said “any means necessary”. See how your logic works, silly goose?

That’s not my logic, it’s all your’s.

How bout this? Let’s suppose you “dive in swingin’”(like you said you would) and use any means necessary to stop somebody from burning the flag(like you said you would). You, being a big strong T-man, hit the skinny little protestor and he falls down(as can be expected, right?), he hits his head on the sidewalk and is severely injured or killed.

You proceed to cuddle your precious flag. No tunnels or saws required. I guess you could drive off in the golf cart, or would you stay to explain it to the police(maybe they’ll be one of your WWII buddies)?

Does this seem like an impossible, or even terribly unlikely, scenario to you? Granted, it’s not as much fun as spy vs. spy, but that’s what happens in real street fights, my friend.

I know you were just talking shit in the original post, and that’s okay, but it is what it is.

P4P, I too am sorry to hijack. This will be my last off topic post on this thread. Again congrats on your accomplishments!! The challenge idea is a good one.

I guess I’ll add to the list of apologies. After all, the other dick wouldnt have talked crap if I didn’t actually give my opinion. MT and P4P, those are some nice numbers, just don’t get complacent with 'em (not that I think you will).
