Seriously Lol, I didn’t lose definition. I also definately am not gaining bodyfat. My waist has remained basically a constant, as my chest grew to 50 inches and my arms bumbed up and inch. I guess being able to bench 365, curl what people bench press for reps, and deadlifting over five hundred pounds when I was seventeen (haven’t maxed out in over a year), is just because I’ve gained a bunch of fat.
I’m mean get a grip. At this rate, I’d be disapponted if I wasn’t benching 500 pounds by the time I was graduatiing college. To make it clear I will bench that much weight by the time I’m graduating college, and if I’m still posting on this site I’m going to love to post that vid. Hopefully I can post a beautiful 405 soon for some of the haters.
W.e. though, I’m just a fat ass, I guess the girls like my roles too, never seem to get complaints, everyone is entitled to the opinions but if you call me out and can’t back you shit up (headhunter, you faggot old bastard I’d love to see what you look like after 38 years of wasted training, pussy, my dad is 50 years old, stopped training at 25 when he had a family, and still was able to bench 300 pounds when he first came back to training almsot 20 years later which is probably better than you’ll ever be) so if you call me out show me the way to do it, post a picture of yourself? You scared prove me wrong.

Yep school just ended, must be keeping up with your college girls huh? Just graduated actually, I’m 22. I was unaware that this thread became one about me? I am not attacking this kid in the slightest, my only point was your one-size-fits-all approach to everyone gets exhausting. “Eat until you puke” “I already ate X amount today” “I eat a cow a week” blah blah, The kid def put on size, but you don’t always have to lose all definition to gain size…[/quote]
You have a great physique, congrats.
That being said… Austin is natural (with not exactly the best leverages either). And quite a few others here are, too.
Strength doesn’t just come easily for us, especially not when trying to keep our abs visible at the same time.
Some can do the whole thing staying lean thanks to genetics… Okay, more power to them. Some can do it with gear to keep the gains coming, more power to them as well.
Doesn’t mean that everyone else can, too, or we’d all be doing it.
Anyway… Are you competing yet or do you have any plans for it?
And jb99… You yourself went on and on about how pwrbarboy couldn’t possibly have gotten that big and stayed that lean on only 1 month of legal pro-hormones or some such thing from what I can remember…
So there.
Most can’t help but put on a little padding in the process of getting where we want to be.

Exactly, it can’t be done in one month or whatever that whole argument was about, I haven’t been lifting for one month, I have been lifting for years. As I have stated now numerous times, I am in no way trying to criticize the OP’s progress or any others on this particular thread. My only wish was that people would be more cautious and less general in their approach when new members ask for help on gaining weight. Having 12 posters telling someone to just eat until they can’t eat anymore, or drink whole milk all day, etc can be dangerous. I have friends who tried this type of diet and failed miserably, adding mainly fat (not that the OP is one of these people). I have just seen people make great transitions while following a controlled bulk or diet. Heck, some of the kids on the football team I used to lift with made great gains with out a huge in their diet, just from incorporating a sound workout regiment. So again, my point was exactly what yours was, everyone progresses differently, what may work for me may not work for someone else. I completely understand that. I just think sometimes people get the misconception that it’s ok to get fat and it’s the only way to gain muscle, which is just not true.
I just recently competed and it was one of the hardest things I have ever done hah, I was a miserable man for weeks that’s for sure.

I didn’t say you were fat and I never questioned your ability to move weight. If you re-read my posts you will understand that this is not an attack on you personally, instead one on the type of advice that is often doled out on this forum about bulking.
jb99, I want to echo what C_C said. You have an impressive build.
You’re confusing me though. When has anyone on this board preached getting fat? The message that has always been preached is do what YOU need to do to see progress. And, I think you’re in agreement that this will be slightly different for everyone. Some may be able to get freaky huge and see their abs the whole way through–good for them. Most, however, will not.
The goal has never been and never will be getting fat! Anyone who thinks this or thinks the senior members on this site are preaching it is quite frankly, delusional. With that said, most will gain additional adiposity while bulking. This increase in fat stores is not the goal, but a side effect of trying to attain the goal of getting jacked as efficiently as possible.
Can people overdue it? Hell yeah! They can consume way too much, train like a pussy, totally ignore the fact that they’re turning into the Michelin Man…but, more often they fall short. They don’t consume enough, OR the second they can’t see hawt abz they diet and lose whatever muscle they gained. Hopefully in either scenario, the individual learns and corrects the mistake and subsequently succeeds.
I want to make perfectly clear that in absolutely NO WAY do I think Austin has over-done it. He’s done a bang-up job. Nice work!
Words of wisdom to the younger folk: Take advantage of your ‘T’.

I never truly understood the whole “youth is wasted on the young” saying until recently, when I started kicking down 30’s door.
I mean, and I’m sure this has been said here before, out of the dozen or so people at my gym making progress, 2 are women, and maybe 3 are under 25. Most of these guys are 30+. It just seems like the only people willing to put in the effort already have a disadvantage due to time.
The worst part is, here is a thread, where one of the few young guys with goals, and the balls and ablitys to meet them, is celebrating a milestone, only to have people shit on him. There is something fundamentally wrong with this world these days…
Austin - you done good. Congrats. The way your doing things is obviously working.
JB- I do agree with you about some of the advice “just drink more milk”, while it’s pretty simple, simply saying something like this is not enough detail or informative
I am not advocating for everyone to cut in the slightest! I just want people to take more precaution while bulking and for those giving advice to be more precise and clear in their responses.
I could be wrong but I think he is just referring to certain areas of one’s body where they tend to store most of their fat. These areas seam to be where one will lose fat last during dieting. My good friend stores a majority of his fat in his abdomen region and it takes him a full 12 weeks to get them to show, even though after about 9 or 10 everything else looks great. Maybe that’s not what Headhunter is talking about though? But you’re right, I think in most cases this can be overcome by dedicated dieting, cardio, etc.
Holy crap… a lot of MMA and martial artists that come here are a pain in the ass. They dont seem to understand that this is a bodybuilding forum… I guess they are not very intelligent.
Size can help A LOT in fighting, and can make you more flexible… contrary to popular belief.
My kicking power has doubled since I started squating 2 years ago… and my defense is stronger thanks to military presses and curls.
Deadlifts and chin-ups have made my back almost immune to kicks and punches. And skull crushers have helped my punches get more powerful.
I am by no means huge, with just 16.5" arms, but I realize that bodybuilding makes you more functional, healty and stronger, mentally and pyshically, and that helps a lot in a fight. When I reach 18" or 19" arms I am sure my punching power will be devastating…
If you dont beleieve me just look in youtube how much weight CroCop squats, or how big he is…
Sorry for the hijacking but im sick of all the “MMA fighters” and “Martial artists” …

I think we should keep bringing you back each time an MMA guy shows up on our door…either that or simply keep your post and trot it out whenever we need it.
