17 Inch Arms

oh can I join this?

5’7" , 165lbs [when pics were taken] and 7% BF

and my ‘genetic anamoly’ 16" Biceps

(I know it’s not a true BBing picture, but hush)

and while I’m here, taken on the same week

a semi-flexed most muscular

I’ve posted this pic before somewhere but what the hell. I’ll air it out again. 17.25 @5’7/170 lbs

That should be the advice. There are a thousand little rejects like this roaming around who have read articles talking about BF %. The problem is, they’ve had their buddy or some incompetent trainer use a caliper on them, stood on one of those ridiculous scales, or what have you. As a result, 95 out of 100 people have no idea what real BF % look like and thus thnk 20% is fat. In truth, almost everyone he knows and probrably himself is somewhere near 20%. 10% is really lean for a non-competitor and if someone is looking for more mass at 20% and does it correctly it is likely that they can add weight and slowly reducde BF levels at the same time. I’ve been doing it for almost a year solid.
Hi! Way to jump in the conversation. You are calling me a little reject why? Sounds like somebody wants to be part of the cool clique. I could defend myself by arguing with you but I don’t really give a fuck. Congrats on getting your diet “dialed in.”

Shhhhhh!!! Artem, don’t say that word around here!

only pic I have here at work, but this is me 8 lbs less and -.5" on the arms than now.

I’m in no rush to cut down, but it would be nice to get rid of some of the chub on the stomach
I apologize, you are still leaner than I am…for now:)

Because I am sick of reading statements from Abercrombie model wannabe’s about BF percentages and how 20 % is obese. It is getting old already. Also, the number of people on this board who have any muscle at all and are close to 10 % is minimal. Also,I mostly lurk. I don’t post enough to care about any clique.

Thanks Adam…I’ve always been partial to straight bar preacher curls for bi’s and decline close grips for tri’s but of course like to employ a wide variety.

A few years? Doc, I’m calling you on this one.
Didn’t you have a field day with Casey Butt’s article about potential and limitations? Aside from the article’s “facts”, you argued that a lifter obtaining information about his genetic limits may indeed limit him from the motivation to achieve larger overall goals.

Your above statement could do the same where time is concerned. Couldn’t Austin_Bicep achieve an 18" arm in as little as a year or even less at this stage of the game?

By the way, Austin… congrats on a great arm!
what are you saying? lol, that if you got bad genetics, 18" arms aint happenin?

Well it IS important to remember it ain’t all about size. There are plenty of fat slobs with 20" arms. At my age I’m less concerned with size than I used to be. Here’s a pic of myself in peak fit condition at the age of 46 and bodyweight of 184 lbs, down from apeak of about 197 lbs cut when younger and my arms are barely 16". A hair under when ice cold actually, but a slight pump boosts them to barely over 16" hehe

The older one gets the less you give a sh*t what anyone else thinks, it’s a nice feeling
Mick

Way to go Mick, I know exactly what you mean when you say “The older one gets the less you give a sh*t what anyone else thinks.”

Thanks for sharing

im usually just over 18 cold, no pump, just on creatine…started at 13.75 yrs ago when i started. this summer im going for 19 with a slight drop in body fat…not ripped but forarm veins visible with decent seperation.
