I squatted more than I deadlifted right into my mid twenties. Shorter legs / longer arms maybe?

Point taken, don’t ask me why, text based arguements just seem to persist beyond reason when i get involved.
Much of the reason I don’t get involved in forums on this site.
One question remains on my mind, I’m not sure which position I fill: that of the pothead with add or a retarded pre-schooler.
Just thought I’d put that out there, you know to lighten the air a bit.

Which is why most of you will remain pencil-necked dorks with no real mass to speak of - ever.
Since so many people find this kid “embarrassing” and “so fat”. Pathetic - this kid’s carrying some fat for sure, but to say he looks “embarrassing” is fucking ridiculous.
Keep up the good work kid.

Agreed, I think the kid has some size to him. Size meaning a decent ammount of muscle. Yeah he has some fat on him but he’s 16. I wish I was that big at 16. Kid don’t listen to the haters on the site. Keep it up.
also supported. There seems to be an over-abundance of people who think the only way to be in shape is to be thin enough to slip under a door. I am also 16, and I wish that I could come even close to those lifts right now. You smoked my ass, dude
IMO you should clean your diet. YOu are what you eat. This website has loads of great nutrition articles. So now, don’t focus too much on quantity of food but quality of food. Learn all about macronutrient ratios. Throw some cardio in your routine too. Everyone on here is giving great advice keep it up guys
Hey man i got your back on ur weights all except for your bench it might be alittle stretch but ive seen it done… some of us are naturally strong at a young age, i had a 405 squat the end of my eighth grade year. and was built around the same as you… so just keep it up.

You have his back? You’re going to throw some e-muscle around on here and protect his supposed lifts? Well now that’s pretty sweet.

I don’t believe you for a couple reasons:
first of all, wtf is this?
Years Training: 12-20
we don’t do half squats here.
Nick… Take advice from White Tiger, hes the onlu one who really knows anything here. He will also give you some lovin when these other guys make a complete fool outta you.
I see a new found love for you my man…
2 Troll in love awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
You both are fatass kids, but dont listen to any of us…What the hell do we know?

and as for your physique, i’m sure i don’t need to tell you that you’re carrying wayyyyyy too much body fat. concentrate on getting that down. you can still lift of course. lift heavy and often and don’t ignore your cardio. if you can get yourself down to around 12% bf then you can start a clean bulk and try to put of some muscle.
I respectfully disagree. At 16, and with the OP’s apparent natural ability, I would work on strength first, and worry about getting bf down later.
OP: Good job. Keep it up. You’ll be a beast when your 20, and then think about cutting weight ![]()
If he keeps bulking like he has until he’s 20 he’ll be morbidly obese.
Thank heavens someone said it. Everyone’s busy taking potshots at a surprisingly polite 16 year old who actually has some muscle on him.
Of course, as LM said, bulking up this way till he gets to 20 is not healthy, but thats been said already.

No he doesn’t look ridiculous and we are definitely a harsh set of critiques but hey it’s for the best I say. A lot of our harsh critique is due to trolls being more frequent and then the other half is due to our amusement. I think a good rule should be that if you vote or give out critique you should also have posted your own pics in RMP…just my thoughts.
Instead of giving each other shit why don’t we just all do our bit and reinforce the basics? Like Mike Mahler says, 20% of the things we do will give us 80% of our gains.
Mate, you have work to do on diet. Never the less, you have plenty of time. I’m not much older than you, at 18, but your age was around the time my diet started to change. Over the Australian summer of 05-06, I attempted to cut out soft drinks, chocolate, cakes and all other confectionary.
My breakfast went from two slices of toast to a decent sized bowl of milk and a cup of oatmeal. My daily diet consisted of tuna and brown rice. After seeing another kid who was younger and getting big, I went from white bread with salami sandwiches and potato cakes for school lunch to 4 wholemeal sandwiches with 300grams of chicken and lettuce squashed in.
On the 07-08 holidays, after reading an old Thibaudeau article containing mostly protein and fats, I changed my meal plan again. Now for recess and lunch, I have a lettuce and tomato salad, 4 tablespoons of olive oil and 300 grams of chicken. I only eat carbs for breakfast and in my training shakes.
Question: Do you lift raw(no belts, no straps, etc)?
Question: Do you lift raw(no belts, no straps, etc)?
not quite i use a belt on squat and staps for deads
why would it not be healthy to keep bulking
i think bulkin is a relative term
almost like the distinction between war and total war
America has waged wars with many countries and only two of them have been called World Wars
the difference being that all of the resources available were used and not in others
If you want to wage a war on fat then you have to use everything in your arsenal to do that, and sacrificing a little muscle shouldn’t effect your morale as a lifter
If all you care about is size and strength
b/c you’re a football player then go right ahead and bulk till the end of ur career
there’s nothing wrong with that
but if you want to look good and be strong
then just do what the kid from Australia said
Eat oatmeal for breakfast
eggs
veggies
and get some fuckin casein to go with that whey
and don’t forget that the lower the carbs in your diet the more likely you are to get lean
that doesn’t mean cut out carbs
that just means eat them if they serve a purpose
such as in the morning
you need energy
(remember you CAN add muscle while being in a caloric deficit, as long as you have energy and protein “while synthesizing” lean mass, hence why I’m stressing CASEIN, 3 shakes a day and you don’t have to worry, AT ALL)
hence why you eat oatmeal
slow digesting complex carbs are the be all end all of breakfast carbs
NUFF SAID

Him bulking to the end of his career is likely to result in him being not as quick, not as agile, and not as good of ball player.

I think it depends on his position more than anything
I think you can be big and agile enough for certain positions
You don’t see every player on the field with an 8 pack
some of them have as much of a beer gut as my dad
And I think adding extra weight for a good duration of his pre-professional or collegiate years would allow him to drop weight and have a greater improvement in his stats from removing weight from the body hence allowing you to load more on the bar
numbers say a lot, and they don’t factor in bodyweight when talking about squats even though it def matters
I think that until he can really attack the whole body fat thing with all his conviction, which would be once he gets a good job and lives on his own, then he shouldn’t focus on it much now
it would only hold him back from his potential, b/c he’d be lookin in the wrong places to shave off calories i think to be really committed to a diet you have to attack it from all angles
including your program
since he’s on a strength/size program he shouldn’t be worried at all about his caloric intake, as long as he gets enough carbs and protein he’ll have the energy and amino acids to put on the muscle he’s worked for, otherwise he’d be getting sub maximal gains
which is not what linemen should do
i forget what position he plays
but he did say he wanted to keep on the weight b/c season’s coming up and if you do agility drills before you lose the weight you’ll see a huge advancement in stats once you lose the weight, the longer you are at a heavier weight the more substantial benefits you’ll see once you lose the weight
just do linear sprints and shuttle drills if you want to enhance agility ladder drills help to, but you need a gym and a coach for that
someone to record times
