Yeah the WPF world bench champs and full power meet in Limerick (you spelt it right!).
I don’t know if I’ll be going tho. I’m lifting in Cork (only a few hundred miles away) the week before it in the WDFPF (world drug free powerlifting fed… there’s so many bloody fed’s!) world champs.
I’ll try to get down to it but I doubt I’ll be able to. What class is he lifting in?
One of the guys I train with ran the Irish qualifyer for it about 6 weeks ago.

Chekc this out… A bench training video from Andy about 6 weeks back. Look how easy he makes the weight.
317.5kg=700lbs.
Anyone wanna bet against him hitting 800 soon? If Bill Crawford thinks he can then I’d be inclined to believe it too.
Kinsale, Co Cork for the WDFPF world champs. It’s in the Actons hotel on the 10th and 11th of november. Lifting starts at 9am on both days. That’s the one I’ll be lifting in.
The WPF world champs and bench comp are on the 24th,25th and 26th of November in the Kilmury Lodge Hotel in Limerick.
You gonna come along to either and watch?
The Irish IPF bench champs are on december 3rd in Dubline too.

Simply amazing. The other thing to consider is that from everything I have seen and heard, this man is a lifetime natural lifter. As someone who has crossed over, I can’t help but wonder how much more he would lift with some assistance. A 3000lb total? I cannot comprehend it, retarded.

Oh god you’re funny. Why do you think he’s lifetime natural?
He left the BWLA (IPF) for the WPC. I think that says something.

I’ll definitely try and make the Kinsale meet. I’m in Cork city myself so I’d definitely be up for making the trip down. At least for Saturday anyway, usually have rugby games on Sundays so that’s not going to work out.
Cheers for the info though, good luck and hopefully I’ll see you down there!

Well, I don’t follow powerlifting that much, I am just learning about the sport. The switch of organizations means nothing to me because I don’t understand the rules. Now, from what I have heard, he’s a lifetime drug free lifter who has never tested positive. He also claims that he’s now at his strongest at an older age due to never taking drugs.
Now, maybe I am still naive, and this is akin to a pro bb telling people he does not use drugs, but I don’t know. Either way, the lift is incredible to think about.
You’re right. He’s never tested positive. But he hasn’t been tested since’s the late 80’s or early 90’s as far as I know in the BWLA. The WPC doesn’t test and you can be sure that 90% or perhaps even more of their elite athletes are not drug free.
I don’t think it really matters tho. As Louie once said “I’ve a bottle of test and a bench shirt over there in the corner and I’ve yet to see them lift a single pound on their own”. The best are gonna be the best regardless of what they take.
Regardless of what Andy is, or is’t taking, he’s always been destined to be the best. Sure he pulled 700-800lbs I think before he left the BWLA (britsh IPF) as a junior. and he’s pulled 900+ in just a singlet. The man is well and truly the deadlift king.
Ps… remember Ronnie used to always say he was drug free in his interviews?? That was funny. He had his reasons tho!

Your confusing Andy with Brad Gillingham, who is a lifetime natural powerlifter who won multiple IPF world super heavyweight titles and has deadlifted over 800 like 30 times.
