not to take things too off topic, but why does everyone hate that Mike Chang so much? He’s just another youtube training guru much like any other, so why does everyone seem to hate him so much more than anyone else?
I think it’s because he comes across as a bigmouth who gives out useless advice.
Also: Csulli, that was awesome.

That and he can’t coach squats for shit.
What makes it worse is that he has over a million followers so people actually look up to that dipshit.
Csulli thanks for showing us proof he’s full of shit.
I’ve always been pretty terrible at pull ups, but I’d suspect more shoulder problems than elbow problems if I were doing them a lot. At least for me personally.

thoracic extensions mate, get 'em done
I’m not sure as to whether or not this is just going to end up being a waste of keystrokes, but I feel like the primary reason as to why people are getting on your case is because you seem to think that this contest of yours is going to somehow validate what you’re saying as if being stronger than someone automatically makes them wrong.
To be honest, you do have some valid anecdotes and experience, but you ought to be relying on those to make a point instead of sponsoring some pissing match.

There are a lot of mobility things I should be doing. But probably these more than anything, so thanks for the suggestion. ![]()

Let’s start out easy. I’ve not even trained pullups for like a month. Here’s 15 reps with 45lbs.
Can you beat that? Just a heads up, you’re gonna have to crush that by a mile if you think you could actually beat BCPowder.
That’s actually not bad. But not good enough.
Addendum: I just threw you a bone…dawg
Thanks man. With respect though, I’m gonna count that as more than good enough until you put up a vid proving otherwise. Lotta guys can just say anything on the internet; you know how it is.
I’ll throw you a bone back. If you can’t at least double what I did, you better keep that cold cash in your freezer, otherwise Chia will take it without breakin a sweat.

As a fan of feats of strength (especially from people not hawking youtube channels etc.), I would love to see what your friend Chia did to win the pullup “contest” at the Arnold. I mean…I’ve seen video of Jennifer Thompson doing the pullup thing at the Arnold.
At the Arnold last year I saw Chia do 30 reps (no kipping obviously) with a 50lb beef jerky vest. They had a weighted vest that was just covered in 50lbs of beef jerky… He won some jerky and a shirt. Was pretty cool.

I’m with you on that one, I’m as mobile as a breadstick

Was thinking this myself.
If Minotaur can do more pull-ups than poster X who has been doing 100 pull-ups a day…that doesn’t mean poster X wasn’t actually doing 100 pull-ups a day, and having some degree of success with that routine.

Leave it to a fellow PA-Brah to get it.

csulli - Those are some pretty weighted pullups. Very nice. And congrats on your back development in you avatar.
I’ll just put this picture of climber, Alex Puccio here for fun. She has some pretty amazing One-armed pullups. I was so impressed with her delts and arms.

That’s cool! She would be fun to watch. I’d probably detach my arm doing one-armed pullups. ![]()
BTW, she lists her height and weight at 5’2", 125. I was surprised she can do it at that BW. I was thinking I’d need to get stronger… or let my legs atrophy…or both…

Height and weight seems about right, she has a dense musculature. Super strong climber.

Ridonkulous!
A video of that would totally light(en) up this thread. Plus, you know…
I did some pullups as part of my warmup today before a lunchtime bootcamp class. You would have thought I DL’d a grand. Granted, I was the only guy in the class, but I guess the ladies haven’t seen many guys do legit pullups.
This thread actually inspired me to do more pullups. So now I’ll knock out a set of 10-15 anytime I pass my bar. Getting anywhere from 60 - 80 extra pullups in a day. On the days where pullups are part of my workout, I can get upwards of 150. No ill effects thus far.
Would doing dips/push ups be suggested to keep a good balance?
Also if doing 100 pull ups every day, what do you do on pull day or back day?
do them anyways as part of routine or “on the side”
do them weighted.
not do them on that day and focus on other exercises.
