10 Years On HRT..

I just discovered this site a few months ago, and found it to be a fountain of information. So I thought I’d share my experiences with HRT.

About 10 years ago my “Alternative Medicine” doctor, based on my border line low T, suggested I go on HRT. So he wrote me a prescription for a T-gel from a compounding pharmacy. I stayed with that for a couple of years, then switched to andro-gel when it came out (5 gms for several years, 10 gms last 2 years).

During these 10 years, although I haven’t changed much physically (I’m 6’1", 180, 32" waist, 44" chest, 16" arms), I did notice my scrotum was pulled up tight. I never paid too much attention to it as my sex life wasn’t affected. But after reading (and reading, and reading), I now know what’s causing it and what to do about it (thanks to the many posters here).

So I ordered some A.I. (from two different places), got a bottle with a yellow liquid with a spray cap, and a bottle of green liquidex with a dropper top. So I started using this stuff this week at 1mg per week (as best as I can compute the sprays/drops to 1mg).

I also ordered some Hcg, but that’s still in the pipeline somewhere from some 3rd world country (you know it’s a 3rd world country when they answer your e-mail “Dear customer”). At any rate, when that arrives, I’ll start the 250iu EOD and see what happens with the family jewels.

A question at this point might be, Why take off on this self-diagnosis protocol. Well, my doctor, although very accommodating, is very old. I asked him if he was familiar with Hcg, he said I must mean HGH. So I’m going to take off on my own (very carefully) and get a new BW in May and see what we see.

I work out 3 times a week, changing my routines every 3 or 4 months. I’m not getting any stronger (but not weaker). I bench 275x3 and curl 110x6 (at least I think it’s 110, I’m not sure what that ez-curl bar weights with a 45 on each end).

Anyway, enough of my rambling. This is an absolutely top notch site for people like me. Thanks to all who contribute!

BTW, I’m 68

Good for you.

Ive heard that hCG is a benefit even when one has complete testical failure. Its a definite go.

Be carefull with your AI. With liquidex, assuming your on anywhere from 5 - 10G of androgel, shoot for one mg per week, split up 3 days a week. Alot of people on T do not have much aromitization to E going on. Low E can cause a whole host of problems.

Get E tested. Go threw quest diagnostics if possible and ask for an extra sensitive estrogen essay.

If there is one product I firmly believe you should look into legally getting, especially at your age, is HGH.

Good advice for sure! About 10 years ago Dr. Ronald Klatz came out with his book “Grow Young with HGH”. Based on his work, I bought a years supply of Pro-HGH (a tablet which dissolves in water and is supposed to raise your Igf-1 profile). After a years worth of this I didn’t notice any difference what-so-ever, so I stopped taking them. About 2 years ago I had my Igf-1 (somatomedin-c) tested. My score was 239 (with a reference range of 90-318), so I think I’m all right in that respect.

I did have a question on this 250iu’s of Hcg. How do you compute this 250iu’s using a .5cc 29 gauge syringe? The syringe shows 50 units is equal to 1/2cc. What would 250iu’s come to with that type of syringe?

It depends on the concentration of your HCG. Pregnyl is sold in both 1500 IU and 5000 IU ampules that are usually mixed with 1ml of sterile water. You just do the arithmetic. 1500 divided by 250 = 6. 1 divided by 6 = 0.166 so 250 IU would be 0.16cc if you start with 1500 IU in a ml. 1 ml = 1 cc.

You have insulin syringes. Insulin is commonly sold at 100 IU per ml so 50 units of insulin would be 1/2cc. You can’t equate that to HCG unless the HCG you have is also 100 IU per ml.

Understand? It is important that you do.

Thanks for the info!

What I’ve got coming is: Pregnyl (Hcg) 5000 iu in amp, and 1ml amp of water solution,(times two). Best I can figure the mixture will provide about 13 weeks supply at about 750 iu’s per week (250 iu’s every Mon., Wed., and Fri.). When the stuff arrives, I’ll mix it up, do the math, and go from there!

I’m still a little vague on how long to stay on this Hcg protocol, inasmuch as the andro-gel is a continuous process. I imagine I should just stay on it until I get my BW done in May.

What I’ve got coming is: Pregnyl (Hcg) 5000 iu in amp, and 1ml amp of water solution,(times two).

When I said (times two) I meant it was a double order, or 10000 iu’s in 2 separate amps. Thus the 13 weeks.

Sorry for the confusion.

Be aware that 0.05cc (I did the math) is an extremely small volume and even with tiny 1/2cc syringes it will be very difficult to measure accurately. I’d consider getting some larger sterile vials and extra sterile water and diluting your HCG with 5ml of water instead of 1ml of water. That would make a 250IU dose half of your 1/2cc syringe instead of a tenth of it.
