10 Reasons Stuart McRobert Can Go F--k Himself

That sounds like it came from ChaosandPain…doods insane, but great site if it came from there.

McRobert’s a nice man. He’s popular with a particular segment of the iron crowd - those who think they’re hard gainers. He’s had a history of injuries due to improper lifting form among other things. In his defense, he’s trying to help those who want to build muscle while avoiding costly mistakes that could sideline a long lifting career (I’m a victim of my own awful lifting practices as a youth, and deal with old injuries to this day). In criticism of him, I don’t believe anyone who uses his methods exclusively will ever become a champion bodybuilder, let alone one who even breaks into local contests.

Under heavy art direction, I illustrated the cover of one of his recent books. He later realized less than spectacular sales, and came back to me for a re-do.

This was the initial published cover.

Dammmit I never put 2 and 2 together and realized that was your work! I should’ve recognized it! I’ve seen the book and know your clear, defined, colorful style (which I like) and didn’t know you’d done it. Cool.
So are you saying the book now has a different cover?

Thanks Nards!

I frankly do NOT like that colorful cover. But I gave him what he wanted… and in the process it took almost 9 months of back & forth correspondence as I worked it to the point of his satisfaction.
I believe he thought the poor sales were due to the cover, so he had me re-vamp it to look more toned down like his previous books and his now out-of-print magazine.
Not sure if it sold any better, but the newer cover is not very attractive.
You can Google it to see what it now looks like.

^^ I checked and it’s still good, and does seem more in the look of his old covers, but I seem to remember that in Ironman magazine when they have an excerpt from his book they use your more colorful cover in the corner of the page.

Aiming for 10 reasons always seems to lead to some crappy ones. Who the fuck wants to get injured? Now this is a good rant:
