10 Miles Back Again

Kinda, that was the best description I could come up with in a rush. Obviously unloaded, hence 100 rep sets. Surprisingly quad intensive.

That is so cool.

I was pleasantly suprised how good it was at hitting the quads to be honest. Although walking down stairs is currently lighting my quads up pretty well, so I might just have got lucky.

Daaamn :joy:

It’s practically unweighted, so not too impressive. Just flushing a bit of blood in there.

It has got me intrigued on the possibilities of an actual pendulum squat machine though. I always thought they looked a bit gimmicky, but maybe it could be a really good constant tension, quad dominant squatting movement for some supplemental work.

I’ve heard they’re even better than hack squat, which are amazing. I think they’d be really really great

I’ll find put on Monday, I guess. They do have both a hack squat and a belt squat machine at my gym, so I might experiment a bit.

Continued here to avoid me having to keep looking at @aldebaran chiselled physique

I maybe didn’t express that right. It shouldn’t be my number 1 goal. Or even crack the top 5. Doing what it would take for me to look how a teenage me would want me to look would be detrimental to my family, I believe.

But I do also have room to work harder and more consistently without that happening.

No worries at all mate, logs are made for that… Just logging in the middle of the discussion :joy:

And yes you can and you have, you have made progress. And a fucking 110 kgs x 20 I don’t even could do when I don’t have as many stressors and years as you do

No shame in that. I doubt training is the number one goal for most people here, honestly. I’m glad that you and others recognize that it is not so black-and-white. You’ve been progressing lately (aside from your knee briefly sidelining you), so don’t downplay that.

It would be really fun to do a program ā€œwithā€ somebody and june 6 is a good time as any, I’m considering this!
I’ve been quite happy without any back squats in my life, and getting plenty of pain from FS, but maybe the change of pace would be good. If I don’t commit to something else by then I’m in.

Work for this morning:
20mins incline treadmill walking.

I’m so fucking sore everywhere, was meant to be a run but I don’t think my legs work well enough for that right now.

That’s how I feel every time I plan to run :joy:

I don’t normally suffer much from soreness so this last week where I’ve been constantly, cripplingly sore everywhere have been unpleasant.

I’d usually just take time off… :joy:

I’ve just taken a couple of weeks off lower body training. Can’t take more time off with @ChongLordUno watching.

Well that was an ironic post to follow up on.

T-ransformation week thing: 193.6lbs
Slightly up, not too surprisingly. Started strong, but I’ve been dealing with a fair bit at work and pulling double daddy duty as well so anything more than NEPA has fallen off the map. I’ve been hitting 25k+ steps a day though, so not sedentary, just not training.

Work for today:

Squats:
5 x 5 @ 95kg

SS.
TBDL:
5 x 5 @ 120kg

Then:
EMOM for 30mins:
2 x powercleans
1 x press (strict-ish)
3 x front squats @ 60kg

Notes:

  • Did this at home due to time constraints, hence the supersetting. Also sans caffeine, sans belt and sans wraps, because I am silly and forgot all of the above.
  • Everything felt awful, especially squats, but to be honest that’s because I’ve been feeling awful lately. Totally lacking in energy, aching, sore and weak. It doesn’t seem to be linked to training either, I certainly feel like my training load has been pretty minimal these last few weeks. Sleep hasn’t been particularly poor, although there have been a few nights where I’ve struggled to get to sleep (totally unlike me), and calories definitely haven’t taken a big dive either.
