1 x 30 Question

after school starts, I get about 40mins to lift, and I was going to use that time to do my main lifts and can do my secondary lifts when I get home.

Well as for deadlift.
deadlift max 365

before I do this, I plan on having 5x5 315lbs.

what would be the best weight to do, if I was to do 30 reps of singles every min for 30mins.

325-340

I’d estimate.

Wait - what? Why do you think this is a good idea?

because its intense

So you’re gonna do five sets of five reps of deadlifts… and then thirty heavy singles?

That sounds like too much.

That would be a long video, but I would watch it if you made one. That is a lot of weight to move! I don’t suggest that. 5x5 deadlifts should be fine if your program calls for it. 5x5 is already a strength routine, plus 30x1 maybes 55 reps of heavy ass deadlifts. Bring a bucket and tally up the number of times you vomit.

no no!!

after I get to the point. where I can deadlift 5 sets of 5 315lbs. Then, next deadlift day, I can do 1 rep every minute 30times.

I just wasn’t sure of the weight

More than 315?

Deadlifting 2 days in a row is a bad idea.
Its called overtraining.
Do your 5x5.

PLEASE READ FOR CAREFULLY NEXT TIME

You even quoted me,

*******next deadlift day, doesn’t mean the next day, means next time I am doing deadlifts

I guess I’ll go for like 325 or such

No offense, but I think I could make better use of 40min in the gym than just doing 30 deads. Also, when you’re doing heavy singles, you typically rest for 3-5 minutes between each single.

There is a time to be different, and there is a time to follow what works.

the thing is that it would be really hard, I read this somewhere on this forum

your pushing yourself

Hell, CW wrote an entire program around singles not too far back. Something like ‘singles for volume’ or something.

If you can do five sets of five reps with 315 on the deadlift, load up 335 and do singles with it.

The magic number is 335.

If you can do it, add more weight.

If you can’t, back off the weight.
