1 Training Session, 2 Gym Crimes!

One of several things are possible:

1.) My gym actually has a much higher quality of members than any of you all.
2.) The times I go are populated with less assholery
3.) You guys don’t look mean enough when you work out so as to ward off idiots.

Once I called this two guys to assist me with front squats if I can’t come up from the hole. I was hiting a rep PR, so I was worried.

Anyways, I go down and this asstat holds the bar with his hand despite me specificaly saying that I’ll yell if I need help and I lose my balance. Luckily, I finished the set with no setbacks except that.

I’m never calling anyone to assist me ever again in my gym. No one squats here, I guess he was puzzled by the movement dammit.
Wait you needed spotters for a front squat, ever heard of throwing it away?

hmmm so i was at my gym it was somewhat crowded…theres a squat rack and a second squat rack to the right, smith machine to the left. Some tall guy finished doing some squats and leaves. New guy comes…decideds to remove ALL 3 plates from the just the RIGHT. The bar obviouly comes crashing the other way due to all the weight being on the left side…smashed into the smith mathine…which someone was in. thankfuly noone was injuerd.

Haha some lady (60+ years) asked me if I needed a spot on my warm-up set yesterday. I had 225 on the bar and I was in position with my headphones on.

When working at a gym some years ago, I noticed that a (pretty jacked) guy had left about 5 pairs of dumbells on the floor as he walked away to another machine.

After a while I walked over to him and said something like “are you finished with them or are you just gonna leave them there for some poor gym worker to put away?”

Later on the guy came up to me and offered me outside for a fight. Seriously. Bloody idiot. Think I’m going to risk police involvment over your attitude?

Great move, just been shown up for being a dickhead so what do you do, act like a dickhead.

You have to love people like that.

I had some guy take off a place while I was busy with rack pulls (I was wrapping my straps around the bar) and I just looked at him and asked what he was doing. He got embarrased when he realized he was taking weights off the bar instead of next to it…

Happened to me a few times. My gym has a lot of Hammer Strength machines and sometimes while I’m on the machine inbetween sets someone would inadvertently start pulling weights off.

What I hate the fucking most, however, is that at my gym we have the machine flyes and machine lateral raises in close proximity to other equipment so that at full extension theres no room to get by. Sometimes I’ll be doing a set of flyes and some jackass will wait until I bring them forward for a contraction then try to quickly sneak through before I extend again for the next rep. Way to fuck up my rhythym because you don’t want to walk an extra few feet around the machine…assholes.

I was front squatting 275. I assure you, I look mean enough. This guy was just retarded.

a few years back i got stuck doing barbell bench press… i had control of the weight on my chest but couldn’t press it back up to rerack it. start calmly asking for help, this guy runs up yelling “what do i do? what do i do?!” with the bar still on my chest i look up at him and say, “help lift it off of me”. i thanked him for helping but am still amazed to this day that he honestly had no idea what to do.

That’s fucking ridiculous.

I’ve hit someone on the head when front squatting once before - I didn’t see the guy try to duck under the plates and I whacked him with the end of the bar on the way down. I finished my set before chastising him for his stupidity.
Holy shit - almost the exact same thing. I had the bar up and was just about to squat when this dipshit decides it would be too much to walk around the two racks and instead walks between them, ducking under the end of my bar in the process.

Little fucker had headphones in to boot so shouting at him wouldn’t have been worthwhile. I think he left right after that, so I didn’t even get to tell him how close he came to meeting God.

There should be a room in all gyms for the T-Nation members to lift in. No ez bars, no swiss balls, just chalk and sweat.

I saw a guy once doing leg press. He’d do one rep, then load plates onto the static-plate storage part of the leg press and then do another rep. He couldn’t figure out that it wasn’t getting any heavier because he wasn’t actually moving any more weight, just loading plates onto the non-moving part of the machine. Then when someone came up and asked to use a plate (because he had most of them by the end of this) he told them he was using them. He’s probably still convinced he can leg press 15 plates.

Never seen that one but I would be LMAO right in front of him.

He must have thought that NO-explode was really working.

He must have though the Dbol was really kickin’ in.

That is one of the most retarded things I’ve ever seen here LOLOL…wish something like that would have gotten caught on vid.

Glad my gym has a lot of real bodybuilders in it who set the tone…A lot of them work and come from the other gyms that are full of the shit you others encounter:D Powerhouse FTW!!

You sir have just made my day

That is shocking some people just have no gyum etiquette. I remember someone walking in to my arm once while i was doing incline dumbell press. Luckily it was from behind so the weight just went to ground rather than wrenching my shoulder out of place.

I understand the first crime.

However it’s your responsibility to make sure you’re lifting with the weight you want.

The hammerstrength pullover machine has the weights directly behind you. I had it loaded up with a number of plates and it was a 25 (which I couldn’t see past the larger plates) that the guy grabbed whilst I was sitting on the machine.

I had a guy walk right behind me, talking on his cell phone while I was doing power cleans. I kinda wished the bar would have hit him.

People can be soo stupid!
