Hi guys, I’m still a new beginner bodybuilder but I think i’ve achieved my goal for my first year of just packing on some mass. Still lots to learn and more to Grow!
First pic is me at around 120 pounds in July 2006
(excuse the pic it was a modeling shot)
you should have enough sense to figure out that on T-Nation boards you aren’t being rated against the everyday “skinny fat” man whose never seen a weight nor are your ratings reflections on your ascent from the underage porno pics. In a sense, you’re being measured up to the the perfect male physique in which case would be a 100% and the T-Nation consensus tags you with a well-deserved 24% of that.
Don’t worry though, all you’ve gotta do is get down to about 6-8% body fat, gain another 20 pounds of pure muscle, bring up your chest, arms, lats, err well basically every body part and maybe you’ll get a decent rating. Until then, post them pics on myspace. 12 year old girls are sure to give you 9’s and 10’s, especially with that bulge and your killer waxed eyebrows.

btw, I think I deserve more than a rating of 2.8 for all my hard work…
Doesn’t a low rating mean not much change? I think i’ve made quite a big change… Oh well…
You don’t have a bigger rating for two reasons:
#1, this isn’t rate my progress, it’s rate my physique.
#2, even if we were rating your progress, you look like you’ve gained a bunch of fat with minimal muscle.
If you want a Magnum XL size rating, you have to give a Magnum XL size effort in the weight room.

A bit harsh, but atleast he’s not beating around the bush. Does look a little like you’ve gotten a bit fat, but underneath you probably have more muscle also.

Not tryin to be harsh, just callin 'em like I see 'em. He has made progress, but for a year and a half it doesn’t look like he gained much muscle. It obviously isn’t all fat, but he does need a lot of work.
To the OP: read anything and everything on this site, and put in the work in the weight room, then come back and impress us all.
I currently workout 5 nights a week with freeweights for around an hour a session doing mainly compound excercises such as bench, squat, deadlift, barbell bicep curls, with other excecises thrown in of course.
I’ve made huge improvemnts with my strength, for example from being so ridiculously skinny I could barely do 3 sets of 10 with 30 pound on the barbell curl, Now I can do 85 pounds… Not heavy for most bodybuilders but from whrre I’ve come from it’s a huge gain.
My diet I haven’t really looked at except to say I try to eat protein rich foods and I take protein shakes…
I’m not really going for the ‘cut’ look, I had that for 23 years of my life when I was skinny, I am fed up of being low body fat % I actually wnated to bulk up with some extra fat, I actually like the way I look and feel with it, I’ve been low body fat and I know what it feels like, I don’t really wanna go back there. Maybe if I am going on holiday I may cut up a little but nothing dramatic.
Just my opinion but I think guys in the USA Have this complex that if your not all ripped to shredz then it’s not good enougth. In the UK I seem to find it’s more accepted for guys to have a more bulky ‘strong man’ kinda look.
