Yeah I was wondering about that, these are some pretty fucking smart zombies

Coming from the perspective of a person that believes the comic books are some of the greatest pieces of graphic literature to ever be created, and has read through all of them multiple times over a number of years
I’m horribly disappointed with the show, and reading in this thread that they are going to butcher it for another 6 episodes is depressing to say the least.
I greatly encourage anyone with even the slightest bit of interest in the television series to pick up the novels.
I’ve read the books also, and I only see one spot where they kinda added something extra (to an extreme) In the books its only hinted that the wife was tagged by the guys partner. Outside of that it stays true. The books are GREAT. REallY GREAT reading. But to make the transition to screen you have to condense some things or it would bee a 3 hr movie every week.
Give it a chance I’m enjoying the ride.

I didnt read the comics, but when Glenn and the main character (forgot the name) covered themselves in guts it reminded me of Shaun of the Dead
Which reminds me of the fact that he said: “If I survive this, I’ll tell my family about [guy they disemboweled]”.
Now he’s been reunited with his wife and son but I don’t recall him saying anything along the lines of “Hey, honey! In order to get to you in this cool truck I ripped out this guy’s guts and smeared 'em all over my body.”
I am disappoint in his hypocrit.

What makes you think he didn’t tell his wife about him in the HOURS upon HOURS of time that spanned between his arrival to them sitting around the campfire? I’m pretty sure there was a lot he told her that we didn’t see/know…

Forget running…them sumbitches can climb 10ft fences, use rocks as tools, and turn door knobs!!
I haven’t read the Walking Dead comic, but remember that in the original Night of the Living Dead, the cemetery zombie used a rock to smash the car window to get to Barbara.
Though I was taken back by the door knob turning. Memory or not, that was just… kinda off.
This is a solid series and AMC is definitely doing it right. Between The Walking Dead, Mad Men, and Breaking Bad (I don’t watch the last two, but they get praised everywhere), AMC is really raising the bar for cable shows like FX did way back when The Shield, Nip/Tuck, and Rescue Me started. (Not trying to hijack, just saying).

There’s always been the occassional zombie that has a bit more brains that the others; historically, it’s always been the ones that “die” of infection, vs. truly reanimated or largely eaten.
The wife (door turner), of course, died healthy, but for a small, otherwise harmless, bite.
So… that handcuffed dude cut off his hand to escape the zombies, right?
I’ve been watching this on Zune…anyone else? The third episode hasnt been released to watch yet.
I’m still hoping the black guy & his son are rescued in time if they make it to Atlanta.
And Michael Rooker of Cliffhanger is now walking around downtown Atlanta NOT being able to double high five anyone has me worried. Poor guy. Major tourniquet action right there.
The retrieval of the bag of guns I think will be a major story element if they get it back (sorry I didn’t read the graphic novel if I am way off)
What’s the word on zombies overrunning their mountain hideout? Besides the deerstalker in the 3rd episode

New episode was kinda slow but I dug it. Watching the hick woman-beater get his face fucking railed into the ground was quite satisfying. I will be staying tuned for next weeks GANG WAR!
Was Boss how he just pummeled that guys face into the ground.
Also, lol @ the campers beating the undead shit out of the zombie snacking on some fresh venison.

I get it off the PSNetwork…and no, the third ep isn’t there yet either. Maybe by tonight.
I love this show. Watched my recording of the 3rd episode last night - it’s on at 10 pm here Sundays in NY - I guess it’s the same for everywhere else.
Anyway, what a great show. I have a fucking knot in my stomach for the whole hour - now you know that’s some great atmosphere they’ve created! Love the empty, apocalyptic look of Atlanta. When the dead were trying to get thru the door to get at Rooker, man that was just fucking so scary. I think part of it is that not only do the dead want to eat you, they really, really want to eat you! They’re like vicious animals - a pack of 'em.
Love the characterizations too. Some really good acting in this show. When Rick makes it back to camp and sees his son - man, I actually got a bit choked up there. Just great stuff.
Can’t wait to see where this show goes.
i watch all episodes off sidereel.com
they are uploaded immediately, just have to find a megavideo link through sidereel that works.
was anyone else waiting for a zombie to pop out of the quary water when they were lookin for frogs?
Anyone else disapointed upset that last episode the announcer said only 3 episodes remaining? That’s like getting a massager and only getting half a happy ending

I was… that would have been awesome.
SPOILER ALERT:
Why the fuck did he cut off his own hand? Why didnt he cut the cuffs, the beam that the cuffs were attached to, or either one of the beams that the bar was attached to? ANSWER TO MY OWN QUESTION: “cause it makes for a better show” I know… I know… but still!
