I know it’s best to take ZMA without CA++ but it’s also advised to take it on an empty stomach prior to going to sleep. I’m bulking right now and make sure that I take in calories before I go to sleep. Does anyone know how much this decreases the effectiveness of the supplement?
I woudn’t stress too much over this. Just take it thirty to forty minutes before your bed time feeding.

I take ZMA on an empty stomach 45 minutes before going to bed. I eat just before I go to sleep. I sleep great.
For me, if I don’t take ZMA on a totally empty stomach, it does very little for me. If I eat a decent sized dinner, even if I take ZMA a full hour or so later, it still won’t do anything for me.
If you must take it with food then make it NOTHING with calcium. Calcium will inhibit the absoption.

I just take it in the morning. I don’t need it for improving sleep, and there’s always some 30 minutes or more between the moment I wake up and the moment I eat breakfast.
This way, there’s zero interference from food. Problem solved.

What exactly are you expecting it to “do for you”?
