Its not difficult to eat a couple ears of corn on the cob. But if you take it off the cob, almost everybody would say that’s WAY too much corn.

I don’t see this as a rebuttal.

Still, I think it would be beneficial for me to track protein? Or even then no, because if I’m not sure, then I should just eat more meat?

For me, rather than tracking protein, I’d PRIORITIZE protein. You and I discussed this a while back with meal selections, where you had foods that were called meals that had only about 20g of protein and snacks that had significantly more. I like the idea that “anything with less than 30g of protein isn’t a meal”. At which point, you don’t necessarily need to break out the scale and calculator to figure that out. That’s like a chicken breast, or a large burger patty.

If you make protein the center of the meal, you’ll most likely hit the goal. You’ll also most likely not overeat, since protein is the most satiating macronutrient.

If you feel you’re at significant risk of undereating protein, I’m not opposed to tracking it for a few days, but at your age, height and weight, hitting a protein goal shouldn’t be too challenging.

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Just focus on getting enough protein. So one thing I can do is focus on getting some nice sized portion of meat with every meal (Or eggs or Greek yogurt)

You got it dude! I realize that my meals are ALL meat, but if you check my log, every meal almost ALWAYS includes 3 whole eggs and 5 whites. That’s my anchor. And what I like about that is, if I keep THAT part consistent, I can just play around with the other parts to dial in outcomes. With 3 whole eggs and 5 whites, each meal will ALWAYS have 43-45g of protein, no matter what.

How is peanut butter healthy but macadamia nuts are not?

Peanut butter is trash. Terrible fat ratios.

Macadamia nuts are the best nut one can eat. It is all monosaturated fat.

How are fruit juices healthy? Especially when compared to something like cream of wheat.

Your right with the peanut butter. Not sure why I put macadamia nuts with the unhealthy. The juice I suppose is not the healthiest.

30 minute E session today. Will probably do some rowing since that doesn’t hurt my knees really.

College program today. Hopefully I have good growth with my moss specimens.
I hope I did the correct plating. I had a plan of doing two with half cellophane half no membrane,with the first moss species, and two others the same way but with the second species, and then a fifth plate with PVDF membrane with both species. I feel like, however, I actually just ended up transplanting 1 moss solution onto ALL the plates. We will see when I get their later

Tbh if you want to simplify it I like “if I can hunt it, gather it, or grow it, I can eat it” idea (I forgot who said it). It cuts out a lot of the processed stuff but still leaves room for treats if it has real food ingredients

What is healthy? If you think anything in a box is then maybe it is. If you think wheat/grains are terrible for some reason, then it is.

Foods with seed oils? Then the overly/ultra processed food is.

But why? what is your reasoning?

You have eaten money of those foods often and tracked it. What happened? Nothing.

@LGN I suppose you’re right. I normally wouldn’t consider cream of wheat (well we get the instant kind, not normal or whatever) healthy mostly just because its it boxed prepackaged processed grain-meal (I think thats an accurate descriptor). It’s not really bad, its just not much.


Great day today. I think its good im not using a calorie counter. I’ve eaten very healthy today. Ate a salad (with meat cheese and egg) for lunch. And dinner was excellent; pork chops, with rice a Roni and caramelized carrots. Pork chops were very good, I love the fatty portions. Currently eating some more food because I know based on experience, and since I had a salad for lunch, I should eat a bit more. Chicken rice and broccoli.

I really like rice. Its a really tasty grain and it seems more “lean” if that makes sense? Like I think it has less calories than other grains, but I’m not actually sure. In any case, I really like rice.

Got in my 30 minutes of rowing. Very relaxing pace.

My hamstrings are sore from the RDLs yesterday. Not sure if that’s bad or not, since its a low weight and was super easy, or if it just shows me that soreness doesn’t mean anything, doing any new movement will make a muscle sore pretty much.

Second day of lifting this week. Today’s workout
Bench: Bar 3 x 20 reps
Squat: 55lbs 3 x 20 reps
RDL: Il do the bar for 3 x 20 reps I guess
Core: Situps 3 x 20

Looking forward to this.

I think I should start doing rice bucket training again. Haven’t done it in a few weeks.

Yeah, it was pretty much all really good healthy foods I think. I did have a few cookie dough bite things in the evening, but it was only a few pieces

Today’s food, is another story. But I have an excuse, that may or may not be valid.

Breakfast was 3 eggs with butter, a cup of minute rice, a few golden berries, and a glass of milk

Lunch was a turkey and cheese salad

My snack… My excuse is I was NOT feeling good AT ALL. So I decided I might need some salt. I feel better now but not 100%.

a bunch of fritos
and now, a can of soda (this has no excuse from me though. Simply an unhealthy piece of drink)

Dinner was meatloaf with mashed potatoes and baked beans. I also had 2 small muffins we made. The meatloaf was good. I’ve never disliked meat. All meat ive ever had is delicious. I think its the only food group like that. I have vegetables I don’t like (although I like most of them), and fruits I don’t like, and dairy products I don’t like. There are also certain grains and nuts I don’t like. I wish I could have a big piece of meat every day for every meal (or AT LEAST for dinner).

Workout went as planned. More difficult, but not hard. Situps were the hardest part and even then not that bad.

I didn’t have any more yellow ones, so I had to use a green one… oh well.

Pretty good day today. For future eating, I will be sure to salt my food enough. I think the lack of salt was one of the reasons I felt like throwing up earlier, but another good possibility was simply me trying to do some math problems on the bus, while there were so many kids making stupid sounds or their phones making stupid sounds. Some days it feels like I’m the only one who is seeing how stupid they’re acting. But I know I’m not, and I’m sure I’ve acted similar sometimes, too. But still.

Il get a quick shower then, and then I need to go to bed and get some sleep.

Food has been somewhat good today. I think I should have some more meat though. Could go for some burgers or porkchops at the moment. Too bad we ain’t got none.

I got some actual protonemal growth on my moss project! Previous growth was actually fungus, I think. But this stuff DEFINITELY is moss. Its green under microscope. I transplanted the bit of cellophane-protonemata-membrane onto a new agar plate, so it can grow. I also made some new plates so I can further work on forming new colonies.

Too bad only a month left on the program… So.. like 10 more days at most? Yikes. Im not finishing this semester… hopefully I get some substantial progress.
