Zerchers are the Shiznit

I will try that MM, thanks. MM, how do you go about eating all that protein every day? A lot of protein shakes? 5 lbs of steak? gallons of milk?

i’m roughly taking in about 675 grams of protein a day. i easily get 400 grams from protein shakes alone. three scoops of whey protein and a glass of milk is about 100 grams right there. i do that 4 times a day. the rest is from meat, cheese and nuts. i find that the more protein i take in, the leaner i get because i’m not nearly as hungry for all the starchy carbs. now for me “leaner” is a relative term.

Eco…training looking good. There’s nothing better than working out with your son. My 8 year old who is also a really good wrestler loves to lift. His dedication, especially at his age puts most grown men to shame. He is a strong little dude and I promised to unleash him on the powerlifting world next summer after he turns 9. Think he may set some records for his age. Hope your son continues to enjoy and gives you a good workout partner.

For what its worth, I get about 300g protein daily, half from shakes. If you don’t do it with shakes, that is a lot of chewing…

Well, I guess its off to the protein powder store. I want to be big and strong like the rest of you.

BB, glad to see you and your son are so close. He sounds like a tough kid. Just like dad.

Work is now blocking T-Nation. Bastards!

Fischer, I’ll give it a go. It is tricky balancing getting stronger and staying conditioned. Thanks

Bunny, I’ve been stuck around 257. My neighbor told me I was trimming down. I guess thats good.

my work blocks it as well but i can get around it by clicking on the link provided in my email notifications when someone responds to a thread that i’ve posted in. give it a try.

I just discovered this trick as well. It seemed that last week the filters were picking the site up as ‘swimsuit and lingerie’. Can make for a long 8 hours, lol

Can make for a long 8 hours without this site.
The kids sports are over this Saturday so I have a few monthes that I can have a set workout schedule. Getting the protein powder this weekend and starting a powerlifting cycle. Pete, Bunny, BigBumpy and Fischer I’m going to try and catch you guys. I’ll never catch Meat unless he gets crushed under his 800 lb squat or starts marathon training.

Looking forward to seeing the progress over the next few months. Maybe Meat will take up competitive tap dancing and give us all some time to catch up.

Meat does have the graceful figure of a dancer.

6/18
squat 405x3,425x3,455x7
zercher squats 135x5,225x3,275x3,315x3,225x5
lunge 30x10,10
plyojumps 3 sets 10 reps
side bends 80x10,10,10

Zerches are feeling more natural. My knees and low back have been great lately.

eco, are you going to give in to your need to belong, and join the rest of us cool people doing 5/3/1? you know you want to. we wont tell. really.

and WOW those are some killer squats.

serious question. which template are you following?

MJ, it is you and the others who have joined me. One of my old threads was called 3 days a week. It was my first cycle of the 5/3/1. I may do something like the big but boring with a few additional exercises and GPP. You never realized how cool I was did you?

That’s it! eco has just declared himself to be “Leader of the Pack!” all hail 531 grand master eco from whom all wisdom flows…

you’re cool dude!

Eco you asked in another thread why your bench stalls but not your lower body.
Pick your accesory lifts for upper body days based on your weaknesses not what you like to do. IE: I was never really good at close grip benches so I always do them and now it is my main exercise instead of bench.

make sense ?

Now, if we could teach him to talk, we could all learn something from him.

Soldog, finally someone making sense. ‘Leader’ is a little much. Maybe just ‘great guy’ or something.

Fischer, I guess my tris would be the weakest spot. So maybe start with close grip and move to 3 board or floor press for a cycle. Something like that?

This is really good to be reminded about. Thanks!

Seriously nice squats, eco. I think I could unrack that much, but if I bent my knees I would hit the floor…lol.

I’m 5’9’’ with a 30 inch pant leg. I don’t have far to squat down. But thank you.

Yeah, well, I am 6’1" and have a 30" inseam. All torso…guess that makes me top heavy…with pansy legs to boot.
